The Twitch streamer Caedrel has celebrated some successes with his own team in League of Legends and has also gained many viewers. However, he doubts whether it can continue next year.
Who is Caedrel? Marc Robert Lamont is known as the Twitch streamer Caedrel. He is mainly known as a co-streamer for League of Legends and reacts to various e-sport matches.
In 2024, he founded his own LoL team Los Ratones. The team has been doing quite well since then. They dominated the regional league NCL in the winter season, thereby making it to the EMEA Masters, the European Championship of LoL. There, they won the final 3 to 0.
But despite the good progress, Caedrel doesn’t know how it will go in 2026. Moving up to higher leagues is not so easy.
There is only one way for the LEC: Money
What is the problem? Many fans wish that Los Ratones would make it to the LEC, the top league in Europe, given their great successes. However, to get a place in the league, one does not have to be promoted as in traditional sports leagues; one must buy a spot. There is no other way to play in the LEC.
Caedrel commented on this in a past stream (via Esport News UK). There, he explained that he would not spend 20 million euros for a spot. It would not be financially worthwhile, especially in the current e-sports situation.
In a more recent stream (via Esport News UK), the streamer also spoke about the uncertain future of Los Ratones. He emphasizes that it is currently difficult and he does not know if they will play in another region. However, they also do not want to play in regional leagues for years.
According to Caedrel, the team also needs a concrete goal to work towards. If there were a way to get an LEC spot through tournaments, it would be easier for them. That would also fit better with their content, which is based on streaming all their matches.
This also attracts many viewers. The final of the EMEA Masters had up to 471,691 viewers watching simultaneously (via x.com).
Caedrel also emphasizes that there is no need to worry for now: This is no reason to worry yet. I am trying to find a way for the team to work.
What is Los Ratones currently doing? Los Ratones is currently playing in the Spring Playoffs of the NCL 2025 in the Losers Bracket. In the third round, they lost against the team NORD Esports, which also features the German player NoWay: Twitch streamer wants to play against the big stars of LoL at 32, conquer the world, and get fit
