Bethesda has earned a reputation for launching games with some bugs present. Many of them are not problematic, but rather amusing. A streamer on Twitch has now discovered an extremely curious bug in Starfield.
What kind of bug is that? The players are aboard spaceships controlled by NPCs. As soon as the ship takes off, the players are thrown out of the cargo hold of the ship. In the videos, the players are either still on the ground or gently gliding back to the planet’s surface.
The community suspects that it has to do with the fact that the players are still in the cargo hold. The cargo hold is not counted as a spaceship instance, and therefore players fall out of it as soon as the spaceship takes off.
You can see the bug in the following video uploaded on Reddit:
The bug is also visible with Twitch streamer Jabo. He screams in panic when he hears the spaceship’s launch signals and laughs heartily as he gets thrown out of the launching spaceship.
In Skyrim, which is also from Bethesda, there were similarly funny bugs. These include broken carriages, giant chickens, or dancing dragons.
The wasteland of Fallout 4 was also full of bugs. The game was easier to play than its predecessor, but there were similar curiosities like frozen birds.
Starfield community is excited about the bug
How do players react to it? Since this is not a game-breaking bug, many users take the bug with humor. In the live chat of the Twitch streamer, many viewers are laughing. The reactions contrast with the concerns of the community regarding the bugs beforehand.
We have summarized some reactions from the above Reddit clip, where players are amused by the bug:
- Zenium7: ‘Thanks to this video, I pre-ordered the premium edition, 10/10.’
- Rossmallo: ‘God, I must have missed that.’
- XmiteYT: ‘I’m not joking when I say that it makes me even more excited for Starfield. Bethesda is the only gaming company that makes me happy with buggy games.’
Some players even want such curious bugs to exist in the game. Without them, the games would not be the classic Bethesda game that many look forward to. We can probably expect more funny clips showcasing amusing bugs from Starfield.
However, game-breaking bugs are viewed quite differently. The RPG giant Baldur’s Gate 3 is struggling with some bugs in Act 3 that dampen the fun of the game: Baldur’s Gate 3 is so full of bugs at the end that it is hard to follow the story.
