The Australian streamer Jess “jessticles” mainly plays horror games on Twitch. But now she shared a sweet story with her viewers: She fell in love with her mod and traveled around the world to meet him.
This is jessticles: With nearly 1,500 followers, Jess is among the smaller streamers on Twitch. On average, 35 people watch her when she plays horror games or reads anonymous confessions.
Moderators, or mods for short, usually serve to maintain order in the chat on Twitch. However, they can also help with organizing events or giveaways. In this case, however, a special relationship developed between the streamer and her moderator.

This is the story of the two: To be with her moderator, the Australian Jess flew around the world to Germany. The flight took over 30 hours.
This is how the story became known: On October 25, Jess shared a photo with her followers on Twitter. It shows her in a romantic moment at the airport. The streamer wrote: “I accidentally fell in love with my Twitch mod”.
Jess captioned the photo with the somewhat cheeky hashtag #TwitchIsADatingSite. Viewers who apparently hope for a closer relationship with their favorite streamers are often told that Twitch is not a dating platform.
How did the first meeting go? Shortly after, Jess went live with her moderator and talked about their relationship. For her, it was a real emotional rollercoaster, said the streamer. She had never experienced anything like it and never will again.
Her new partner, Yannik, agrees: “I had about 300 emotions in 2 minutes.”
Jess compared the first meeting to a scene from the cult franchise Shrek. In the movie, the green ogre is temporarily transformed into a human. However, it is still recognizable that it is Shrek, according to Jess, just as a human.
It was exactly like that when she stood in front of Yannik for the first time in real life. He apparently doesn’t quite know what to make of the Shrek comparison.
And overall, communication between the Australian and Yannik, who lives in Germany, seems to work great, as you can see in this clip in English.
This is how the two plan to continue: Jess plans to stay in Germany for the rest of 2022. During this time, she wants to stream regularly with her boyfriend.

While Jess enjoyed the time with her new partner, the sweet story of the two spread. In the comments under her tweet, a Twitch colleague shared a similar experience: His fiancée was also his moderator, then she flew from Florida to the UK to visit him:
