The Twitch streamer Jake “GernaderJake” Straus (27) is currently the trendiest PvP streamer for Destiny 2. On the first weekend when the Trials of Osiris returned, he played “Flawless” 55 times and there could have been a few more.
Who is he? GernaderJake has been on Twitch since 2008 and is a passionate Destiny streamer. His peak was at the end of 2016 with the expansion Rise of Iron. At that time, many of the well-known Twitch streamers had already left Destiny and the streamer was able to consistently reach over 1600 viewers.
In the years and months that followed, however, the viewership fell back to 400 to 500 viewers. Destiny 2 was not particularly strong on Twitch in recent years. Trials are almost cheat-free – even on PC

However, Jake also has a few issues with the Trials: The loot is the part he likes the least. Besides a Sparrow, there’s nothing that makes “Flawless” playing worth it. He is concerned that people will quickly lose interest in the Trials and the PvP mode needs many players to remain attractive.

Why are Trials so important to him? GernaderJake says Trials have been fantastic for him and his Twitch channel since Destiny 1. He loves playing with many people in the community and bringing them to the Lighthouse. It is just fun. It is that simple. It feels very rewarding to bring people to the Lighthouse. He is also building his community this way, which ultimately helps support himself and his wife.
