Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect has introduced his new gaming PC in a video. Behind the $10,000 lies considerable power. MeinMMO has taken a look at the setup and explained what hardware is in the PC.
Who is this about? The showcased setup belongs to the well-known Twitch star Dr Disrespect. The streamer, known for his sunglasses, mustache, and mullet hairstyle, is not only known for his skill on Twitch but also for his occasionally audacious actions like Twitch Drops in Valorant.
This is what he proudly introduced: Dr Disrespect has acquired a new gaming PC. He recently posted an official video on his Twitter channel where the PC and its individual components are presented:
Here’s the Doc’s reaction: The streamer was quite speechless about his new PC. You can see his reaction to the PC on Twitch, where he thanks the manufacturer “DigitalStorm”. He says during the stream:
I mean the craftsmanship. When I took it [the PC] out of the box, I said… Who am I fooling? I feel like a little kid. I’m excited about any kind of technology I take out of the box, but man, I was really, really excited about this one. The craftsmanship is kind of crazy.

And the setup is impressive, as the PC contains parts worth around $10,000. The necessary cash should not be a problem, as the Doc signed a million-dollar deal with Twitch in early March.
MeinMMO has taken a look at the setup and explains to you…
- what the Twitch streamer has built into his PC
- and what performance is in the hardware.
And before someone says that’s a lot of money: There are even streamers who invest $30,000 in their PC. So $10,000 seems almost like peanuts:
$10,000 – The most important components of the gaming setup
This processor is in the PC: Dr Disrespect’s PC contains an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990x. This processor is a real monster when it comes to performance. The processor has 64 cores with Turbo Boost and a clock rate of up to 4.3GHz. The Threadripper is one of the strongest multi-processors with extremely high performance – accordingly, the price is also high: It currently costs almost 4000 euros.
Such multi-core processors are ideal for multitasking – perfect for someone who streams, plays games, and does many other things simultaneously.
How strong is the CPU in comparison? The Ryzen 5 3600 is the currently best mid-range processor, providing a good upgrade option for many users.
In the CPU Passmark benchmark (via cpubenchmark.net), the Threadripper achieves a score of 81404, while the Ryzen 5 3600 only achieves a score of 17788. Dr Disrespect’s Threadripper thus offers about 4 – 5 times the performance of a mid-range CPU. The biggest difference lies primarily in the number of cores.
- The Ryzen 5 is a 6-core CPU with 12 possible threads (via virtual core doubling).
- The Threadripper 3990x has 64 cores with 128 possible threads. The difference is enormous.
In multi-threading, the Threadripper shows its strengths, but for most gamers, a 6 or 8 core CPU would be completely sufficient.
What mainboard is used? The ASUS Rog Zenith II Extreme Alpha is installed as the mainboard. This is a high-end model from ASUS’s ROG series, specifically designed for gamers.
There are eight DDR4 UDIMM memory slots for RAM, in addition to 4 PCI 4.0 x16 ports, and a multitude of USB ports (USB-A and C). The mainboard even offers Wi-Fi. It provides enough power to overclock a processor like the Threadripper without any problems. However, the price is steep: between 1100 and 1200 euros need to be paid.
This graphics card works in the PC: The streamer relies on two cards from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti for his graphics card. The card offers extremely high performance. Toms Guide rightly calls the card the “King of 4K”.
In conjunction with the right monitor, extremely high frame rates beyond 140 Hz are possible. For streamers who primarily play fast shooters, this is immensely important. Because the high frame rates make the image appear smoother to the human eye, thus allowing for better aiming.
However, the price for this performance is also quite high: it currently lies between 1200 and 1500 euros.
How strong is the graphics card in comparison? In the WQHD mid-range area, a comparison with the Nvidia RTX 2060S (Super) and AMD RX 5700 XT is appropriate, which, for example, our colleagues from Gamestar lists as the best WQHD graphics cards for 2020 (via GameStar.de). Both cards provide enough performance for more than Full HD and are future-proof.
- The Geforce RTX 2080 Ti offers about 30 to 35% more performance than the RTX 2060S in direct comparison. However, the RTX 2060 Super costs around 450 euros, which is about a third of the cost.
- When comparing the Geforce RTX 2080 Ti with the RX 5700 XT, the RTX 2080 Ti also offers about 35% more performance. The RX 5700 XT also costs around 450 euros, which is only about a third of the cost.

What hard drive does the PC use? The gaming PC is equipped with two NVME SSDs from Samsung. Specifically, these are the Samsung 970 Evo 2TB NVME. They deliver read and write speeds of up to 3.5Gb/s and 3.3 Gb/s, respectively, and are said to be suitable for 4K video and 3D graphic editing. He has installed two of these NVME SSDs in his computer, each costing around 470 euros.
And SSDs are becoming increasingly important today. Even Epic’s CEO Sweeney praised the fast SSD of the PS5, and for most users, there is actually no reason why they should not purchase an SSD:
This is the RAM used by Dr Disrespect: The Twitch streamer uses G.Skill memory. This is the Ripjaws V series. 8 sticks of 32 each provide a total of 256 GB of RAM.
Behind the Ripjaws V lies a very high-performance DDR4 kit, which is primarily aimed at demanding overclockers and enthusiasts. The RAM provides high performance for overclocking, but G.Skill also charges accordingly: the individual 32 GB stick costs between 220 and 240 euros.
How much does Dr Disrespect’s gaming PC cost?
Below we list all parts again individually and show what the PC would cost in euros.
| Component | Price (in euros) |
|---|---|
| AMD Threadripper 3990X | 4000 |
| Asus ROG ZENITH II EXTREME ALPHA EATX sTRX4 | 1130 |
| 2x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB | 1340 (2690) |
| 8x 32 GB G.Skill Ripjaws V | 222,90 (1783,20) |
| 2x Samsung 970 Evo 2TB NVME | 429,00 (856) |
| 14x Corsair ML140 PRO RGB | 34,99 (489) |
| Total Price: | 10.948,20 |
The price of Dr Disrespect’s PC is quite high at around 10,000 euros, but it also includes absolute high-end components. The processor and mainboard are among the best on the market, and the graphics card is also very fast. While the price may seem high, it is quite justified given the technology used.

Can you game well without expensive hardware? If you don’t have a lot of money for a gaming setup, you can still play current games in Full HD thanks to streaming services like Stadia. With Stadia, you essentially have access to a high-end device from home, and the best part is: Stadia is currently giving away 2 months of Stadia Pro to all interested parties.
