Streamer makes shocking discovery during a live event
What was the original incident? f1elly streamed live from the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, on the weekend of October 21. However, a scene from the stream shocked and raised speculation among viewers:
The streamer wants to check something on her cameraman’s phone as she was having connection issues. But when she opens the notes app, it quickly becomes clear that something is wrong. f1elly apparently discovered something and asks her cameraman, “What is that, why is that there?”
What happened next? Viewers cannot see what is happening; they can only hear the voices of the streamer and her cameraman. f1elly insists on seeing the phone again, wanting to prevent the cameraman from deleting the content.
Then f1elly starts to cry, turning away from the camera. However, she does not want to end the stream. Instead, she tries to keep her composure and continues to cover the event for the rest of the weekend.
f1elly: “I need to process this first”
What was going on? In a stream on October 27, f1elly clarified to her viewers. She didn’t want to go into too much detail, the streamer said, but she had found photos of herself on her cameraman’s phone.
What kind of photos were they? These photos were explicitly not images from her Instagram account, which the cameraman had initially claimed. f1elly explained that she recognized the outfits in the photos, but not the actual images – apparently, they were taken secretly and without her consent.
Additionally, she discovered screenshots from her streams in which she was either standing up or sitting down.
In tears, f1elly explained that she felt extremely uncomfortable because of the photos:
I saw photos of myself. And I had never felt such fear because I recognized myself, I recognized the outfits, but not [the images]. I recognized myself in my hotel room.
In that moment, however, f1elly did not want to say anything about the images; she was afraid it could trigger some viewers.
Why didn’t she end the stream? f1elly also explained why she chose to stay on air even after discovering the photos. For one, she did not feel safe with her cameraman, he felt like a stranger.
Although she did not feel in immediate danger, f1elly said she wanted to have her chat with her.
On the other hand, a lot of work had gone into planning the weekend; she did not want that to be ruined, as the streamer said:
It just felt unfair, even in that moment of confusion. It did not feel fair that someone could take this weekend away from me, for which I worked so hard. […] That’s why I continued. And we had a lot of fun, right?
f1elly reassured her worried viewers that everything was fine now. The situation is a bit stressful at the moment, she needs to process it all first. However, she never wants to talk about it in the stream again, f1elly said.
Despite the terrible experience, the streamer hopes to remember the weekend positively and hopes to participate in future events with her viewers.
