On October 17, the “Season of Blood” starts in Diablo 4 and brings new monsters into the game. The developers presented them in their stream, and Twitch streamer Asmongold expresses his criticism of it.
- In Diablo 4, Season 2 starts on October 17 with numerous adjustments for a better gaming experience. The improvements include changes to the endgame, leveling, and inventory system.
- Theme-wise, the new season revolves around vampires and introduces 22 new vampire powers, which are equivalent to the 32 wicked hearts from Season 1.
- Many players are cautiously optimistic about the changes. They say: The game is moving in a positive direction.
Also, the streamer Asmongold, who was awarded as the best MMORPG streamer on Twitch in 2022, has dealt with the contents of the “Season of Blood.”
On his Twitch channel, he watched the developers’ stream of Diablo 4 together with his viewers on October 4 and said: The monster mobs are cool, but they are not new.
The “new monsters” look quite familiar to Asmongold
This is what Asmongold says about the new monsters: The developers say in the livestream that they will “add a bunch of new monsters” in Season 2. Asmongold reacts visibly excited and says: “Let me see.”
He seems briefly confused, then laughs before covering his face with both hands as if he cannot believe it himself. In the livestream, monsters are shown that resemble the revenants, mages, skeleton warriors, and bats that already exist in Diablo 4.
Wait, but… guys, that’s a revenant.
Wait, aren’t those the mages? The mobs are cool, but they are not new, they are just reskins.
Here you can see his reaction on the YouTube channel “Asmongold Clips,” which was uploaded on October 4:
“They have all the mobs painted red”
As early as August, he expressed his criticism of the appearance of the “new monsters” when he saw an announcement. There he said: You can’t just repaint the same NPCs in the game.
This is what the community says: Currently, there are over 1,300 comments under the YouTube video. Here are a few voices on the monsters in the second season of Diablo 4:
- The comment with the most likes comes from Eyestudio11: “Wow, they painted the skeletons red and painted blood over the revenants, that’s real dedication that we expect from Blizzard, right?”
- carronline1 writes: “Damn, they learned how to use the paint bucket tool and painted all the mobs red.”
- DaShikuXI thinks: “Reskinned mobs in connection with something like a vampire curse are fine, but that should of course be complemented with a good amount of new mobs.”
- ManuelRiccobono writes: “The worst part is that they sell them as new while they could just say: ‘We decided to make all monsters look similar so that people immediately know what their attack pattern is’.”
What do you think about the monsters? Would you prefer completely new mobs, or are you satisfied with the vampire form of the mobs? Feel free to leave us a comment here on MeinMMO.
