Cars from the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini are popular as status symbols among Twitch streamers. The German number 1, Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich, has fulfilled his dream of such a car, but then an injury caught him at the worst possible time.
What’s the deal with the Lamborghini? EliasN97 announced in May 2022 that he had treated himself to a Lamborghini Urus for just over €300,000, his absolute dream car. Among Twitch streamers, expensive cars are a sign that you have made it. However, there is a long waiting time.
Thanks to his connections, he was able to reduce the waiting time from two years to just under a year, the streamer revealed (via YouTube). In July 2023, the moment finally arrived. EliasN97 announced on Twitter that the Lambo had arrived in Germany and that he could pick it up soon.
Then everything turned out a bit differently.
Driving ban 1 week before pickup
What happened to EliasN97? On August 4, 2023, EliasN97 injured himself during a match for his soccer team Delay Sports, diagnosis: torn cruciate ligament. For the 25-year-old, who once dreamed of a career as a professional soccer player, then became an esports athlete, and eventually conquered Twitch, this was already the second injury of this kind.
In the meantime, EliasN97 is on the road to recovery and is currently hosting a marathon stream on Twitch. However, the injury had unforeseen consequences that the streamer only realized later.
The streamer was issued a driving ban of 3 to 4 weeks – one week before he was finally supposed to pick up his Lamborghini. However, that was the least of his problems, explained EliasN97 (via TikTok).
Due to the torn cruciate ligament, he could not attend gamescom 2023 this year and will not be able to participate in his own Eligella Cup in September.
Since then, nothing has been seen of the Urus on the streamer’s social media channels. However, EliasN97 announced that there would be photos and a video of the pickup. So it seems the car is not yet in his possession.
Mathematically, the streamer should soon be fit enough to finally receive his dream car.
