In the Open Beta of Diablo 4, the Necromancer is finally playable. Many fans have been waiting for this class. Even the well-known MMORPG nerd Asmongold has taken a look at the Necromancer and is confident: the class is absolutely broken.
Who is the streamer?
- Asmongold is the largest MMORPG streamer on Twitch. His opinion holds weight with many fans.
- During the two beta weekends, the streamer is also playing the new action RPG and is quite satisfied with Diablo 4 in his first conclusion.
- For Asmongold, what everyone is celebrating is less important, but rather the gameplay. And here he apparently has found his new favorite.

This is what Asmongold says: In a compilation on YouTube, the streamer shows how powerful the Necromancer is. He not only kills elite enemies with one shot, but is even faster against the first boss than with any other class.
Asmongold relies on skeletons, bone spears, and corpse explosions. He practically mows through the enemies and says: ‘This is disgusting […] it’s like I have 5 Barbs with me.’
Already at level 5, he encounters the toughest boss in the game, at least during the Open Beta. While the Butcher wipes out other players, Asmongold takes home an easy victory here.
He ends his summary with a satisfied smile and the comment that he doesn’t even look at it. He just clicks and everything dies.
“The Necromancer is hellishly overpowered”
Is the Necromancer really that strong? The consensus among many players right now is that the Necromancer is extremely strong. While the other new class, the Druid, seems too weak to many, the Necromancer is currently climbing to the top.
On Reddit and other social media, the class is praised. We also asked our colleague Maurice Weber, the most famous German Diablo journalist and self-proclaimed Necromancer fan. Maurice says:
“The Necromancer is hellishly overpowered. I completed a fortress for level 25 already at level 17 by myself and mastered it, where I failed with other classes at level 2. He is so OP that it almost detracts from the fun of the game.”
However, Maurice also notes that Necromancers are often extremely strong at the beginning, but quickly fall back as stronger bosses simply sweep away their minions. Without skeletons, Necromancers are out of luck.
For streamers, however, the class is ideal. You don’t have to pay attention, you can chat with the audience, and the companions take care of the rest.

Will it stay this way? It’s hard to estimate. Blizzard uses the beta mainly for performance tests, but also aims to consider balancing. However, it has already been said before that the whole game must be taken into account.
Since it is currently still unknown what exactly awaits us in the endgame and how strong Necromancers are there, it cannot be said what will still change. As long as the Necromancer is OP, we have a nice build for you here:
