The WoW streamer Zack, better known as “Asmongold”, is the largest streamer in the MMORPG sector and co-founder of the organization “OTK” (One True King). Now, the Twitch star demonstrates how one should definitely not unpack their expensive gaming PC.
This is behind the action: At the beginning of August, OTK announced that they wanted to launch the “best PCs in the universe” together with the friendly streamer Charlie “Cr1TiKaL” White. However, the project named “Starforge Systems” received a lot of criticism beforehand.
Now Asmongold has received his PC from Starforge Systems and opened it live on stream on September 1. However, the unboxing was so chaotic that many viewers’ hearts raced.
The most terrifying PC unboxing ever
This is how chaotic the unboxing went: First, Asmongold cut the sealing tape on the box with scissors, while viewers criticized him for his technique. The streamer assured, however, that he had never cut himself.
Then he tried to gently let the PC slide out of the packaging – by simply tipping the box over on his gaming chair. Concerned viewers advised him to put the box on the floor and cut it open instead.
Asmongold took the advice of his viewers but chose a huge machete to cut it open and began hacking at the sides of the box. In the process, he not only almost cut his desk chair, fans had also somewhat justified worries about his hands:

A viewer described the action as the “most terrifying PC unboxing” they had ever seen. At the same time, others added that it was also the most entertaining one.

Reactions somewhere between admiration and mockery
This is how the action was received: The unboxing was not only shared on Asmongold’s YouTube channel, but also Starforge Systems shared a clip on Twitter, with the explicit warning not to try this at home.
While some viewers mainly talked about how nervous they were while watching, others admired the dedication with which Asmongold plays his role:

Others mocked that they had never seen so much physical activity from Asmongold and called for him to be sent more packages. His technique was also criticized: one would expect a better handling of a blade from an MMORPG player.
On Twitter, a user demanded that the crazy action be offered as a service: when purchasing the most expensive Starforge PC, Asmongold should personally come by to unpack it with the most impractical and dangerous tool in the house.
Asmongold himself has now realized that a machete is not the appropriate tool for opening a new PC – next time he wants to use a chainsaw (via Twitter).
Asmongold is regarded by many as the WoW streamer par excellence and embodies the stereotype of the typical gaming nerd: long hair, messy room, questionable hygiene, and terrible nutrition. Many of his viewers can probably identify with that. A girlfriend doesn’t really fit into the picture. Therefore, a photo of Asmongold wearing a shirt from his ex recently caused excitement.
