Zack “Asmongold” is undoubtedly the biggest MMORPG streamer on Twitch. He gained fame with WoW, but he has also showcased games like Final Fantasy XIV and Lost Ark. For a while, he has only been streaming irregularly. Now he shares in an honest video why something had to change.

His life was completely out of control
This is the situation: After over 2 weeks without streaming on his main channel, Asmongold addressed his fans via YouTube. In a brutally honest video, he recounts what has been going on with him.
It looked that bad: Asmon is known for his messy room full of drink cans and fast food wrappers. He recently shared his cleaning initiative on Twitter. But even outside the bedroom, things were not well.
My life was completely out of control, even by my standards. That says a lot.

One half of his sink was clogged and full of black water, and he couldn’t do anything due to the trash, and apparently, there was a pest infestation in his bathroom.
He doesn’t even know how the bugs kept getting into his bathtub, as Asmon stated. He simply showered with them. However, he has taken care of it now. One can only hope that the crawlers stay away this time.
He also commented on the chaos and waste in his bedroom.
I just sleep with it; it’s not a big deal for me. […] No ordinary mortal can live with me; I am a damn beast! That won’t change, but at the same time, it needs to be mitigated.

So it seems that the chaos didn’t bother Asmon much. He reacted in surprise to the incredulity of his fans in the chat with the words: “What did you expect? This is just how I live!”
Eventually, however, everything became too much for him; the conditions stressed and burdened him a lot. The trigger for his change of mind was probably a truly terrible day.
After a horror day, something had to change
This all went wrong: It all started with his car. He had been driving it for 15 years, and it was practically just a step away from the junkyard. According to Asmon, that’s where it belongs, as he ultimately paid more for the repair than it was worth.
Additionally, his father had been sick and didn’t respond to any of his calls. Worried and without a car, the streamer walked to his father’s house in over 40° Celsius. Fortunately, his father is doing well now.
During a meeting with his organization One True King, he even broke a tooth. He had apparently been having trouble with his teeth for a while, as he had been wearing a temporary crown for another broken tooth for a year.
All of this in just one single day was a reality check for him. There were also “a million other things” like taxes and his investments. He had to get his life back under control.
Asmongold wants to change his life
This is what he has already achieved: As previously reported, Asmongold cleaned up his bedroom. It took more than 5 hours. He describes the effort as “a hard battle, no it was a war.” However, he can’t understand the discussions that the post on Twitter sparked.
Additionally, he had the various problems in his house, such as the pest infestation and the clogged sink, resolved.
And he also wants to change his health situation. Asmon is trying to eat twice a day instead of just one meal now and aims to eat a bit healthier. He is also getting back to regular exercise. Furthermore, he plans to undergo a dental procedure.
However, he does not want to take an official streaming break. He definitely does not want to stop. After all the excitement, things should continue as usual soon.
Asmon remains optimistic that he can keep the place in order this time. His room has been tidy for 2 weeks now. Generally, he finds it easier to maintain something like this than to tackle it in the first place.
