The streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp (25) has the largest channel for League of Legends on Twitch. For years he was banned from LoL by Riot Games for being too toxic. Even now, he often crosses boundaries, but he has become the figurehead of the MOBA. Now he realizes why he is no longer getting banned: He simply has too many viewers, as he announces with crazy laughter.
This is what Tyler1 learns before the clip: Someone has tipped the Twitch streamer off that his channel on Twitch has been watched more hours than the official channel of the North American league LCS.
As a screenshot shows, from July 6 to July 12 on Twitch it looked like this:
- The channel of Loltyler1 has 1.25 million hours of viewing time
- The channel of the LOL league LCS has only 1.19 million hours

No wonder they don’t ban me
This is how Tyler1 reacts to this information: After receiving the information, Tyler1 behaves like a villain from a “James Bond” movie. He is also stylishly devouring a chocolate bar.
Wait, you’re telling me that more people are watching me than the LCS? In weekly hours? Then it’s no wonder that I am not getting banned! [Crazy villain laugh] They really need me!

Tyler1 then writes in the LoL chat: “I am going to int the game so hard now, because I cannot get banned. Riot, you are screwed.”
He seems so excited that he doesn’t even type in all caps by accident.
What’s behind this: It should be seen with a hint of irony, like everything Tyler1 does, but it has a kernel of truth:
- Tyler1 was banned from LoL for years because he was simply too toxic, and Riot Games did not want to tolerate this behavior
- Riot actually only allowed him to play and stream LoL again after a Riot employee insulted him so harshly in 2017, that they had to fire that person
- Tyler1 staged his return to LoL with T-shirts that said “Reformed” – he allegedly changed
- Since his return, Tyler1 has become more popular and is now clearly the star of LoL and the figurehead of the game on Twitch
By now, Tyler1 is so successful that he enjoys a certain freedom to do what he wants. He doesn’t have to hold back.
In 2019, there was an incident when Twitch switched to Tyler1 just as he was participating in their TwitchRivals tournament, which he even won.
Tyler1 was then yelling aggressively at motherfuckers and raged while the Twitch commentators were laughing it off.
The lesson seems to be: If you’re big enough, the rules of behavior apply to you only moderately strictly.
However, it seems that Tyler1 knows exactly what he can say on air and what he cannot, and he balances on a tightrope.
Tyler1 is definitely one of the most talented entertainers on Twitch. Many of his outbursts and fits seem to be staged and meant to entertain the audience. That the streamer also has a softer side could be seen when he unwrapped a very special gift:
