About the format “Twitch Rivals,” the streaming platform is hosting the “World Series of Warzone,” and there was an unusual middle finger scene during a player draft.
This is what happened:
- Regular tournaments for Call of Duty: Warzone are hosted via Twitch Rivals
- Just before the switch to the Vanguard graphics, the World Series of Warzone occurs once again
- In a stream for this, team captains were supposed to draft their team, but instead of a streamer, a middle finger was shown
Middle Finger Sneaks Into the Stream
What happened there? 5 well-known Warzone streamers wanted to draft their teams for the big tournament, but during the streamer “HusKerrs,” there was a still image for a few minutes. After a wide shot of “TeeP,” the crazy scene occurred:
In the upper right corner of the image in the “studio,” HusKerrs was supposed to be connected, but instead, a middle finger suddenly appeared there. The finger waved happily in front of itself and casually showed thousands of viewers what it thought of the event. At that time in the stream, over 10,000 people were watching the stream (via twitchtracker.com).
The participants showed little reaction. Only the streamer “ShawnJGaming” had to laugh a bit and probably wasn’t quite sure what was going on.
What kind of stream was that? The World Series of Warzone starts on November 17, and it is a big duo tournament from North America with a total of $400,000 (approx. €350,000 – as of 17.11.21). The prize money is divided into two parts:
- $300,000 distributed among all participants
- $100,000 via the captain teams
All teams gather points over several matches, and players receive prize money according to their placement.
Additionally, all players receive prize money through their captain teams. Each of the 5 captains counts 5 teams, and the points of these teams determine the captain’s placement and additional prize money.
How did the finger attack happen? Streamer HusKerrs explained that he posted the link to the call in a stream, allowing someone to sneak into the transmission. Thanks to our user “somerandomguy” for the follow-up information.
Encountering such a cheeky middle finger in a so large and well-planned stream in the “Twitch Rivals” format is likely to remain a rarity. Do you remember similarly crazy incidents? Then feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.
