In his last livestreams, Sykkuno hinted that something bigger was coming. “I was very busy,” said the Twitch streamer, emphasizing how rarely he was live on the platform in April. Now his fans also know why: YouTube made Sykkuno an enticing offer, and he is now switching there.
Who is Sykkuno?
- The 31-year-old is one of the top streamers on Twitch with 4 million followers and nearly 10,000 subscribers. At his peak, he had 39,447 subscribers – he was one of the highest-earning streamers on the platform.
- About 15,000 people tune into his streams almost daily. From October 2020 to June 2021, he averaged 30,000 – 50,000 viewers.
- In his streams, Sykkuno mainly plays GTA V, Valorant, or Fortnite. However, he also enjoys switching to Just Chatting to chat with his fans.
- His fans are very devoted to Sykkuno. When the streamer Froste joked that it was not him but Sykkuno who was nominated for the Twitch Awards, they sent him photos of his house and threatened him.
PogChamp was probably the offer from YouTube for Sykkuno, what it means, you can see in our video:
Sykkuno’s streamer buddy talks about “absolutely ridiculous offer”
What did the streamer buddy say? The streamer KristoferYee, a buddy of Sykkuno, although he did not talk about exact numbers and possible sums, described the offer from YouTube as “crazy insane.” He suggested that they probably paid him between 1 and 29 million euros.
YouTube’s deal is apparently a few numbers larger compared to the “absolutely ridiculous offer” from Twitch. KristoferYee also does not understand why Twitch lets big streamers go who bring viewers to the platform.
While they save on not offering the streamers money to stay on Twitch, they lose in the long run. No one would switch to Mizkif now that Sykkuno has switched to YouTube, says KristoferYee. The thousands of fans are going with Sykkuno and potentially leaving Twitch forever. That’s a lot of money that the platform is losing.
