Since a marathon stream, Miyoung “kkatamina” Kim (26) can call herself the biggest streamer on Twitch. For over 12 days, Miyoung entertained thousands of viewers, and it all started with a simple birthday stream.
Who is kkatamina? The Twitch channel of kkatamina hasn’t been around for long – she created it on May 6, 2020, and has been mixing it up among streamers ever since. However, the 26-year-old didn’t come to this decision all on her own.
DisguisedToast, also a huge streamer on Facebook and Twitch, encouraged kkatamina to start streaming and explained the basics to her. Additionally, Miyoung is a very good friend of AriaSaki, who also helped her, as a prominent Twitch streamer, to advance her streaming career.

One such project was around “FTB Revelations,” which took place in Minecraft. There, kkatamina gained significant attention for the first time due to her distinctive and upbeat personality.
Thus, the foundation of her successful streaming career was already laid by many contacts with famous personalities and projects with them.

At the beginning of her career, she managed to attract about 1,000 to 2,000 viewers, while over time, that number grew to up to 7,000 viewers. In between, she also just chats with her viewers.
Marathon stream makes kkatamina the biggest Twitch streamer
During kkatamina’s short birthday stream, she announced she would hold a Subathon to celebrate her birthday and the one-year anniversary of her Twitch channel. This Subathon was to be her first and last (via Twitter).
The marathon stream began on November 10, and there were only two rules:
- Kkatamina goes offline only when the set timer hits 0.
- The timer increases by 15 seconds for each subscription on Twitch.
Miyoung did not set a limit for the Subathon, as her colleague Ludwig had done before. The stream was to last as long as subs kept pouring in. During the birthday stream, her friends joked that they would never see Miyoung again.

Kkatamina broke Sub record: On the 9th day of her Subathon, kkatamina broke the record of the most subscribed female streamer on Twitch, thereby surpassing the previously set record of German Twitch streamer and DJane Sintica. The previous record was at 52,992 subscribers.
The numbers of her Sub Counts skyrocketed, as many viewers wanted to be responsible for breaking the record and gifted her massive subscriptions. Kkatamina watched with her friends as she gained 600 new subscribers in one minute.
On November 22, the marathon ended for kkatamina. She recorded a total of 72,534 subscribers at the end of the timer.
But that wasn’t all. After the Subathon officially ended, she gained another 1,086 subs while kkatamina thanked everyone. She concluded the whole stream with 73,620 subscribers.
Kkatamina tearfully bid farewell to her viewers and couldn’t quite comprehend that her 12-day adventure was about to end. She viewed the farewell with mixed emotions, as she had a great time streaming but had to end it.
As of now, at 12:40 PM on November 23, her viewers are still active in the chat on her Twitch channel. They miss the stream, are chatting with each other, or spamming emotes.
For kkatamina, the effort and marathon definitely paid off: She now ranks 3rd among the most subscribed Twitch channels, behind CriticalRole and xQcOW. Additionally, kkatamina is now considered the biggest streamer on the entire platform.
