The access to the beta of Counter-Strike 2 is currently highly sought after. Twitch streamer Tarik Celik (27) is among the lucky ones who are already able to play. And the former CS pro immediately demonstrated that he still has it.
What kind of streamer is he? Tarik was previously a professional CS:GO player and then switched, like some of his colleagues, to Valorant. After the end of his professional career, he really took off on Twitch and became one of the most watched streamers worldwide within 2 years.
So it’s not surprising that Tarik is among the chosen streamers who received a coveted beta access for the CS:GO successor Counter-Strike 2. In his stream on March 22, he also got right to it.
Counter-Strike 2 will likely be an upgrade of the existing Counter-Strike, similar to Overwatch 2. You can see what will change in our video:
Tarik gets the first Ace
What did Tarik achieve? After the streamer tweaked some of his settings and played a few deathmatches, Tarik dove into his first real match of Counter-Strike 2, still unranked.
Also in the game were CS:GO pro Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert and the “human aimbot” Michael “shroud” Grzesiek. However, the first map didn’t get too heated, as the high-profile team was first trying to get a feel for the new engine.
Tarik seemed to adapt the quickest, as he got going on the second map: With two crisp headshots, the 27-year-old took out the first CT players before hunting down the remaining opponents.
How did the streamer react? Very cool. After 3 more headshots, Tarik casually stated: “I just achieved the first ‘C-S 2’ Ace.” His Twitch colleague, CS:GO pro Erik “fl0m” Flom, quickly reminded him: It’s not about who gets the first Ace, but who can post an Ace online first.
We’ve embedded a recording of the stream here:
Indeed, many other content creators, including English pro Owen “smooyacs” Butterfield, have posted their respective Aces. However, this didn’t stop Tarik’s fans from celebrating him and filling the chat with exclamations like “EZ ace”, “Sheeeesh” and the popular “PogU” emote.
While Tarik, shroud, and others are already busy shooting, the German streamer Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler is still trying to snag a beta access on Twitter. However, his methods are not going down well, as the 28-year-old was practically begging for a key:
