The Twitch streamer Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm has signed a contract for a TV series. The contract is with “Skybound Entertainment”. Behind the company is Robert Kirkman, the creator of “The Walking Dead.”
What is the TV series about? It is said that the television series will revolve around how “the Doctor became the Doctor”, telling the backstory of the character DrDisrespect.
So far, it is not known in what form the series will come about. It is said to Hollywood Reporter that they are still in an “early creative phase” and have yet to identify a network on which the format will air.
There is talk of a “narrative scripted series”: a TV series with a script and narrative intent, not just a reality show.
It is still unclear whether it will be an animated series or not. Initial signs lean towards “animation”, according to Guy Beahm. It has not yet been clarified whether the series will head in the direction of “comedy” or “drama”.
This is the first deal for a TV series that a Twitch streamer has made.

“There are a lot of incredibly talented streamers, but Guy has created something truly special with the character [of the Doctor]. We believe there is a unique world around the Doctor. DrDisrespect is the biggest figure that has ever existed in the video game world.”

Skybound Entertainment was founded in 2010 by David Alpert and Robert Kirkman. Kirkman is a comic book artist, and he created the universe of “The Walking Dead”.
Who is DrDisrespect? This is a character that has a lot in common with a WWE wrestler. It was created by Guy Beahm, a former game designer who designed maps for Call of Duty.
With games like H1Z1, PUBG, Apex Legends, or the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and his “macho” character DrDisrespect, he has reached 3.8 million followers on Twitch.
