In today’s reveal for the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a battle of titans is about to unfold. The controversial Twitch streamer DrDisrespect has set his sights on pro player Shroud and has declared war on him. The declaration came live on Twitch and was reminiscent of a wrestler.
What did the Doc say? In a bizarre video on Twitch, the notorious streamer DrDisrespect ranted about pro gamer Shroud. He said that Shroud is too good in every game and the Doc has had enough.
Therefore, he wants to finally destroy him this evening in the big multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
In his video, he emphasizes his declaration of war by spitting wildly, making erratic gestures, and ending everything with a chilling primal scream. You can find the video, which is set to Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack for the film Inception, here:
His exact words are:
“He is damn good in every game and I’m fed up! He is overrated! And tomorrow, Shroud, you’ll find out what pain is! I’m going to grab you and then I’ll squeeze! I’ll make you taste it, Shroud. And then you’ll break. You can count on that!”
DrDisrespect resembles a wrestling pro in Twitch feud
Where will they meet? Both Shroud and the Doc are invited to the reveal of the multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare live at Infinity Ward this evening. There, they – along with other prominent influencers – will showcase the new game modes live and are surely going to cross paths.
Why is the Doc doing this? The whole thing is – especially due to the melodramatic presentation – certainly a PR stunt to increase the hype for the CoD reveal this evening.
The Doctor takes inspiration from the staging of wrestling matches; those are, after all, exhibition fights.
Since such trolling actions fit well with the image of the character of the Doc, they probably came to an agreement quickly.
What are the Doc’s chances? Shroud is considered one of the best shooter pros in the world. No wonder he’s reverently called the “human aimbot“.
And even though the Doc is certainly not a bad player, he may find it difficult against Shroud and might soon regret his big words.
