Aydan Conrad (23) is among the highest-earning Warzone players and is also active as a content creator on Call of Duty on Twitch and YouTube. However, after a few months with the successor Warzone 2, Aydan is no longer interested and announces a break.
What kind of player is he? Aydan “Aydan” Conrad is considered one of the best Warzone players. He was the first to earn over $300,000 in the Battle Royale, and now he ranks second among the highest-earning Warzone players with over $400,000 (via dexerto).
In Warzone 2, the 23-year-old wanted to continue his winning streak, but less than half a year after release, he is no longer interested – and he is not the only one.
In addition to Call of Duty, Aydan is also playing Fortnite. With the time he otherwise spends on Warzone 2, he now wants to check out the Unreal Editor, which makes Fortnite look like a completely different game:
Is Warzone 2 not providing enough incentives to play?
Why is Aydan quitting? In a video the content creator published on Twitter on March 27, he announced his intention to step back from Warzone 2. For the player who describes himself as “super competitive,” there simply isn’t enough to gain.
He misses the “High Roller” bets with high stakes and tournaments with large prize pools, as he knows them from the original Warzone. These so-called “Wagers” are pretty much dead; in recent days, no one wanted to play with him.
There have been some tournaments, but none has reached the $100,000 prize pool of the “OpTic Texas Warzone 2 Kickoff” at launch in November. According to Aydan, currently, there are only Twitter tournaments, which are not particularly rewarding, and sometimes there aren’t even enough participants.
Overall, the 23-year-old describes the game at this point as “stale”; there is nothing new or exciting. Since the competitive aspect is disappointing, he can only make content from it – and there simply isn’t enough. Without new content, he wouldn’t enjoy producing new videos for YouTube or TikTok.

No farewell forever
What happens next? Aydan plans to step back from Warzone 2 for the remainder of Season 2, which runs according to the Battle Pass until April 12. For Season 3, he intends to give the game another chance.
Furthermore, he wants to remain loyal to the CoD franchise but focus on the Ranked mode – which will be introduced with Season 3 for Warzone 2.
In the meantime, he also wants to try something completely different, like Creative 2.0 in Fortnite or Elden Ring. Perhaps a little distance can reignite his passion.
How is this being received? The video in which Aydan announces his break has been viewed over 2.2 million times on Twitter. In the comments, viewers express their understanding and vow to continue watching him, no matter what he plays.
