Vansessy has had a steep career in the German area of Twitch after a slow start, reaching the top. However, she has now been banned. Instead of sympathy, there is mockery from users and colleagues – and a renewed discussion about the rules of Twitch, which are allegedly not upheld by the platform itself.
Who is the streamer?
- Vanessa, known on Twitch and elsewhere as Vansessy, is among the biggest female streamers in the German area on Twitch.
- After initially starting with gaming content, she recently switched to the categories Just Chatting and Hot Tub. What Amouranth became famous for.
- In her streams, she often presents herself in a revealing or scantily clad manner. Links to OnlyFans are also often included.
This has happened now: The Twitch channel of Vansessy is currently suspended, reportedly due to a “violation of community guidelines.” Twitch itself rarely provides a specific reason, but on X, formerly Twitter, users are already sure of what happened.
The user Bilal_2k, who often comments on the German Twitch scene, shared the ban (via X). In the discussion below, another user posted an image clearly stating that Vansessy was banned for 3 days due to “lewd behavior.”
Streamers like Amouranth or Vansessy constantly navigate the line of what is allowed on Twitch – apparently, the streamer has now landed on the wrong side of this balancing act. We do not know at this point which scene specifically was the reason.
Role model Amouranth meanwhile has new plans:
“There is nothing to celebrate”
The discussion under Bilal’s post attracts several big names from the German Twitch scene, including Scurrows and Chefstrobel. Both seem to agree with the ban but are not necessarily satisfied with it.
The problem is that Twitch’s rules are not enforced consistently enough. Scurrows complains: “I think it’s unfair when some are banned but others are not. Either there should be a line, or we should not celebrate it at all.”
Chefstrobel, who faces many negative reactions himself, shares the same opinion. He says: either it should affect everyone or no one. What Vansessy does, hundreds of other female streamers do as well. At least the ban is a start.
The success of the hot tub niche and other categories where streamers (and streamers) can show themselves more revealingly has caused discussions for years. When it recently came to the nominations at the Stream Awards, streamer MckyTV expressed his strong feelings:
