The streamer Jens “Knossi” Knossalla was banned on Twitch. The exact circumstances of the ban are still unclear. The last time the German streamer showed a special event was on February 14.
Update February 22: Knossi has since explained why he was banned. The reason is alleged moaning in the role-play of GTA. The streamer accepts his ban:
Because of GTA RP. Because of moaning in GTA RP. Yes, rightly so. I would like to apologize at this point. Ignorance does not protect from punishment […].
I obviously deserved this ban. It was right. I felt that if I was in GTA RP and others were pretending to me, it was okay.
Update February 16, 8:00 PM: Knossi has been unbanned. The ban lasted only 24 hours.
What happened? The website Streamerbans reported that the account “TheRealKnossi” was banned on Twitch. The ban took place on February 15 around 8:00 PM.
Why Knossi was banned is still unknown. We also currently have no information on the duration of the ban.
However, a bot on Twitter reported that the ban is likely only temporary (via Twitter). The reason given is a violation of the Terms of Service. However, this is very vague and could mean almost anything.
- Some users speculate that it could be related to the fake break-in that was shown in the last stream (via Twitter).
- Another user suspects that in the last stream, when Knossi carried his wife, her underwear was accidentally visible (via Twitter).
What does Knossi say himself? The streamer has already commented on Twitter . There he stated that he is celebrating an “extended Valentine’s Day”. This refers to the fact that he cannot stream today and thus has “time off”.
However, he has not commented on the reason or duration of the ban.
Knossi has been banned four times before, last in 2020
Is this Knossi’s first ban? No, Knossi’s Twitch account has been banned multiple times:
- The first ban was received by Knossi on December 9, 2019. That was lifted after three days.
- The second ban occurred just a few days later, on December 30, 2019. It lasted only one day.
- On January 10, 2020, Knossi was banned again for one day.
The last ban happened on December 10, 2020 – again for one day. Back then, it was suspected that Sido was responsible for the ban. The rapper vomited live on stream during the Christmas camp.
Who is Knossi? Knossi is one of the largest German streamers on Twitch with 1.85 million followers. Only MontanaBlack and Trymacs rank ahead of him.
The streamer is primarily known for his gambling content, which he shows live on stream. He has already been mentioned as a negative example in a ZDF documentary. The satirist Jan Böhmermann has also criticized Knossi when it came to the topic of gambling.
However, he repeatedly manages to attract celebrities with large formats. Highlights of his career include the fishing and winter camps he hosted with Sido and Manny Marc, as well as his own series on RTL, which, however, was discontinued in early 2021.
