In Twitch challenges are held regularly. Now Trymacs wants to reach one of the highest ranks, Master, in League of Legends. However, he uses a method that spoils the fun for other players.
What is going on with Trymacs’ challenge? Currently, Trymacs keeps playing LoL on his Twitch channel. Together with the LoL player and fellow Twitch streamer SnKarma, he is trying to achieve the third highest rank, Master.
Currently, Trymacs’ LoL account, xMacs, is at the rank Gold. There are still 4 ranks to go to Master. The plan seems to be to get “boosted” through his matches by SnKarma, who is a significantly better player than Gold (op.gg).
This is not the first time that Trymacs has received help from friends. In Valorant, he also got boosted to reach the second highest rank.
“Boosting” or in Trymacs’ case “Hitchhiking” is a method where a weaker player is pulled up by a better player. Riot itself rejects this method. In a Dev Update on Youtube in October 2025, the developers of LoL announced that they had already taken action against this behavior and would continue to do so.
Riot employee looks into Trymacs’ case
In the League of Legends Subreddit, the boosting of Trymacs and SnKarma was shared by a user. The Riot employee Pupulasers thanked him and wrote the following: “We will look into this, thank you for bringing it up!”
What does the community say about this? Under the Reddit post, some players have voiced their opinions. Specific-Lecture-662 writes that this behavior is one of the main reasons why LoL is becoming less enjoyable.
The Reddit user AnAncientMonk responded to another user who finds this behavior less critical and wrote: “And the rounds in Silver or Silver players, who are effectively having their game experience ruined because of this, do you not care about them?”
With this, the Reddit user refers to the smurfing of SnKarma. Smurfing describes a player who plays at lower ranks than his own. Riot already published an article in 2022 stating that smurfing is not allowed. They write that they do not endorse this practice as it destroys the game for players in lower ranks (leagueoflegends.com).
In League of Legends, larger streamers or influencers are not protected from a ban. Recently, former pro and Twitch streamer TheBausffs was banned. He collected 17 deaths in a round and was temporarily banned for intentionally feeding the opponents: Pro gets banned in League of Legends, fans say: “He deserved it”
