Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler is one of the biggest streamers on German Twitch. His career began with mobile games from Supercell. However, in the current game from the developers, the “Pay2Win streamer” is facing payment problems.
What is happening with Trymacs right now? The Twitch streamer has been playing Squad Busters, the new mobile game from Supercell, the creators of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, with which Trymacs became famous. The new game is set to release in Germany on May 29, 2024, but Trymacs has already been able to play it in advance – and spend money.
At first, the streamer struggled with the system in Squad Busters: After 7 hours in the game, he could only spend $35 – do you actually have to play the game to progress? However, Trymacs wouldn’t be known as a Pay2Win streamer if he didn’t find a way to get rid of money (via YouTube).
In his stream on May 22, Trymacs revealed that he had already spent $2,500 in Squad Busters. There’s still more to be spent, as he had his sights set on the new ultra troops. However, Apple threw a wrench in his plans.
While Trymacs plays mobile games, this 92-year-old prefers to read fairy tales to her viewers on Twitch:
A Half Dozen Calls to Customer Service to Pay
What difficulties does he have with Apple? Trymacs topped up his account as usual through his Apple ID, but then came the disillusionment: He could no longer make in-game purchases, his account was suspended.
The streamer quickly contacted Apple customer service. He explained that he had been experiencing these problems for years: Whenever he topped up a certain amount, his account would be suspended for several hours.
After several attempts, Trymacs finally reached a staff member who explained to him: With so many high payments, the account might be suspected by the system of money laundering.
Thanks to his years of Pay2Win experience, however, Trymacs had a solution ready: Normally, he contacts customer support, who would then unlock him for half an hour so he could spend as much money as he wanted. However, the staff member was unwilling to agree to that (via YouTube).
Instead, Trymacs was offered to lift his 24-hour suspension – this process could take up to 24 hours. Further attempts to lift the ban earlier were unsuccessful.
Only after some detours through a new Apple account and a device change was Trymacs finally allowed to pay again. After a victory cry, he officially crowned himself as the “best Pay2Win streamer in the world” – for any questions, the Apple support could call him in the future.
What is behind this? Whether for Pokémon cards, the best team in FIFA, or mobile games: Trymacs is known for investing thousands of euros into his content. However, the streamer views these expenses as investments.
He says that he earns multiple times what he spends with his content. However, he also knows that his viewers are not in the same fortunate position and therefore does not want to encourage them to spend money as well. Rather, they should be able to watch him instead of pouring their own money into games. Trymacs pokes fun at his own content: “We have been playing mobile games for 7 years”
