Trove is increasingly becoming a lucky find for Trion Worlds, as the company has now announced that over one million players per month are actively playing the MMO!
One million active players per month is quite a number. The voxel MMORPG has only been out of the beta phase for about a month, but the mix of adventure and building is well received by players. The game demonstrates that the phenomenon of Minecraft does not seem to be limited to a single game. In Trove, you also create your own worlds and change them. This building aspect is very appealing to many, as you can creatively shape the game and then showcase your creations to other players. Additionally, the role-playing elements play a significant role, as exploring different worlds, fighting monsters, and improving your own hero are all integral parts of the game.
One reason for the success: Since its launch Trove has been the surprise hit on Steam. It is currently still among the top 15 most popular games there.
Trove is continually being developed
The success can now be demonstrated by the over one million active players. No wonder the developers are already working on updates with which they want to expand Trove. Currently, they plan to release a major patch every two months. This will include the PvP mode that has been planned for some time, allowing players to fight each other. There is also work being done on the guild system, and players can look forward to offline invitations, banning players, and self-made portals that connect the various areas of the guild worlds. Moreover, work is diligently ongoing on the Mac client of the MMO.
The success of Trove does not mean that Trion Worlds wants to focus solely on this “smaller” type of game in the future. In fact, a team is currently working on another AAA game, about which they cannot reveal anything at the moment.
