The sandbox MMO Trove is becoming a great success for Trion Worlds.
On July 9, the MMO Trove officially launched. Just two days later, developer Trion Worlds announced that they would need to increase server capacity due to the huge influx of players. And this, even though the servers had already been scaled up during the beta because so many wanted to play.
A patch was quickly released that was meant to increase performance and reduce wait times. In the meantime, the developers have started new servers in both the USA and Europe. Whether this will be enough remains to be seen, as Trion Worlds is closely monitoring the load of these new worlds.
Looking at the posts in the official forum, it seems that Trion Worlds will need to start additional servers, as there are still queues where players have to wait up to an hour to finally get started.
Trove is incredibly popular

The popularity of the MMO is not only evident from the queues and the increased server capacity. Since its launch on July 9, Trove has become one of the most popular games on Steam and is quickly climbing up the top 10 games with the most concurrent users. The trend is even pointing towards Trove being the game that finds new players the fastest.

The sandbox of Trove, where you can change and build entire worlds similar to Minecraft, seems to be very well received by gamers – probably because, in contrast to the competition, it offers plenty of MMO and RPG elements. Thus, Trion Worlds seems to have struck gold with this MMORPG.
