The online game Trove is surprisingly popular among players. As Trion Worlds has now announced, a new record has been set with 15 million registered players, despite the fact that Trove hardly appears in traditional gaming media.
Trove is playable on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and is regularly updated. This leads to players enjoying the world full of blocks. According to Trion Worlds, there are now more than 15 million players who have created an account.
Games like Roblox or Trove are successful, but under the radar of gamers
This is all the more surprising because Trove hardly plays a role in the awareness of many gamers. A similar phenomenon can be observed with Roblox. Hardly anyone talks about the game, yet according to current data, Roblox generated 310 million USD in digital revenue in 2017 and is thus in 6th place among the top 10 free-to-play games on PC.
Perhaps it’s because Roblox and Trove cater to a younger audience with their aesthetics?
While Trove does not appear in the top revenue list, it also has impressive numbers.

More updates planned for 2018
So 2017 was a very successful year for Trove. But the developers are not resting on their laurels; they are eagerly looking forward to what 2018 will bring. Work is already underway on several major updates. This includes the ability to change the universe in new and unexpected ways. That seems to be quite exciting.
