In recent days, complaints have been piling up in Outriders. The reason is players who kick others from the group in the Expeditions before they can receive their rewards. This causes a lot of anger and frustration.
What is the problem? Numerous complaints have come from the Outriders community from players who were playing in random matchmaking groups. There, they were playing Expeditions, the endgame activity of Outriders.
Recently, there has been a trend in Expeditions of nasty group leaders kicking other players from the group before they can collect their loot at the end of an Expedition.
Something similar has happened before to many players of the Devastator class: Those who play the wrong class get kicked from the Outriders coop
Kick option “is getting out of control.”
This is how players are reacting: The affected players are obviously not happy about this and are venting their frustration on the Outriders subreddit (via reddit). There are dozens of posts on the topic where frustrated players report their incidents and discuss the issue.
Garecules writes: “I understand that there are legitimate reasons for the option to kick other players, but it is getting out of control” (via reddit). He is currently stuck at Challenge rank 7 and doesn’t have much time to play.
However, the problem does not seem to be limited to the lower ranks. Trickmalpais writes: “Imagine joining a lobby, completing a CT15 Gold [Expedition at Challenge rank 15], and getting kicked right after the completion. […] If you have your group open, then don’t be like that. It’s pretty easy not to play with other people. I don’t know who peed in your cereal” (via reddit).
Numerous players report the same or similar experiences. They also discuss possible solutions to the problem. Some even post sad memes on the topic:
How can the problem be solved?
This is what players are suggesting: There are numerous ideas to prevent the problems. However, it also shows that the solution is not that simple.
For example, deactivating the kick function would increase the risk of AFK players just being carried through the missions. Therefore, many suggest a voting system so that the team leader can only remove someone if the other team member agrees.
This would only work if random players are involved. If there are two trolls, that would quickly become pointless as well.
Another idea is to deactivate the kick function only for the last part of an Expedition. However, there is still the risk of some jokers going AFK as well.
Many therefore recommend looking for “real” players on other platforms who are seriously interested in co-op. Ideally, one has friends to play with, or one should go solo. This is not an optimal solution, but still better than taking the risk.
How is Outriders doing otherwise? The game still has numerous problems. Players are still waiting for the restoration of their inventory after a serious bug deleted it.
At least a patch is in the works that is supposed to fix numerous bugs and issues, and the restoration of lost items is also said to be coming soon, according to developer People Can Fly.
