In Marathon, friendly players have no chance and receive mocking comments. But a trio has caught the wrong runner and is facing criticism for it.
How did they shoot the wrong player? The trio was playing Marathon on the “Border Zone” map when a hostile runner burst into the room. “Friendly, friendly, friendly, I’m doing the ARG stuff,” he shouted repeatedly, running past the stunned players.
The three didn’t hesitate long and chased after the unknown player. They made it clear that they were not friendly. A few shots later, the unknown player was on the ground, complaining – while the group of friends laughed loudly.
A player from the trio posted the scene on his TikTok channel. In the video, he wrote: “When you meet an ARC Raiders player in Marathon…” and added in the video description: “We’re not playing nice here, buddy.” They wanted to point out that Marathon is not a friendly game.
However, the player faced a lot of criticism for the video – even from the PvP-friendly Marathon community. They shot the wrong runner.
“That’s not an ‘ARC Raiders’ player”
Who was this player? The community noticed in the clip that it was not just any ‘ARC Raiders’ player who thought he could fulfill his peace quest in Marathon by shouting that he was friendly. The player was content creator Skarrow9.
Skarrow9 is primarily known for his content on Destiny 2. For several years, he has been creating videos with guides, tips, and other useful information about Bungie’s loot shooter and has gained over 120,000 subscribers on YouTube. His videos often reach over 20,000 views.
Currently, Skarrow9 is focusing on Bungie’s new game, Marathon, which he plays actively. Here, he publishes, as he did with Destiny 2, not only tips and guides but also information about so-called ARGs. These are basically puzzles from Bungie for the community.
When the trio encountered the YouTuber, he was working on solving a current puzzle. A comment on TikTok states, “That’s Skarrow9, that guy is something like the ultimate ARG master and has unlocked the secret trailers for us.”
A puzzle whose solution could bring a new map.
What kind of puzzle is this? The community is currently working on a puzzle from Bungie that apparently should unlock the fourth map of the game, Cryo Archive. The puzzle consists of countless steps. The community never knows what the next step looks like. They have to figure everything out themselves.

The solution to the puzzle has been dragging on for several days, and while most players in Marathon simply run through the maps and push each other around, players like Skarrow9 are trying to unlock the new map for the entire community. The trio’s kill of the YouTuber backfired since they caught one of the few players that no one wants to see dead.
