Why do we have to trick in 2022? The grind during the Solstice event of Destiny 2 has always been challenging. There are always many tasks to complete so that in the end, you can equip your armor with the unique glow.
In 2022, there is even the possibility to earn the Solstice armor with really high stats, to maximize your build.
Sounds tempting, but disappointingly, Bungie also abolished the bonus progress in 2022. This is especially bitter for players with multiple characters. It was this practical Solstice bonus progress that made it progressively easier to activate the glow on your other characters.
However, if you want to equip your alternative second or third character with armor glow and the best God Roll stats in 2022, you have the full grind program ahead of you.
- The Guardians must complete all 24 Solstice challenges per character in 2022.
- With 3 characters, that would be a grindy 72 tasks that a Guardian accomplishes during the event period from July 19 to August 9, 2022.
- This also includes, among other things, 25 Gambit and Crucible matches per character and 100 Guardian kills.
This is how you easily get the bonus progress back
Ingenious Guardians, like Paul Tassi from Forbes, have discovered that there is indeed a trick to regain the practical bonus progress from previous years without having to repeat all 24 challenges again and again.
Those who want to benefit from the trick just need to do the following:
- Step 1: First, complete Solstice challenges in the new event pass with one character.
- That’s a total of 24 quests, and each time you complete a challenge, you receive a material. You need this if you want to optimally improve a piece of armor.
- Once you have completed that, the respective upgraded armor piece of the character glows white, and from now on, you can start upgrading other armors to re-roll their max stats.
- Step 2: To transfer the progress of one of the armor pieces to your second and third characters, simply transfer the still “unplayed” armors to this completed character and boost them three times with Silver Ash.
- Silver Leaves and Ash are account-wide, so you can farm them and use them freely for your other characters.
- Additionally, you can use the trick to create a clever curve to complete the PvP tasks.
Who can effectively utilize this bonus advantage? As you can quickly boost second and third characters with this trick without farming a single material for it, it is primarily aimed at Guardians who play more than one character in Destiny 2.
Usually, it’s experienced players in Destiny 2 who level and play all three classes, namely Warlock, Titan, and Hunter. This way, they keep all options open in endgame. So, if for instance, the Hunter isn’t the right choice, they switch to the Warlock or Titan. However, this also requires that all three characters be leveled up, even during the Solstice event. This little trick is indeed helpful here.
The trick still works, but you should be quick: Apparently, Destiny 2 currently does not recognize that the armor you are upgrading actually comes from another class. Bungie has not yet announced that this is a known bug that they plan to fix in future updates.
However, it is not excluded that this may change. If you want to use the trick, you should start doing so right away.
Does the trick have a downside? Yes, the trick does have a small downside. Even though you can transfer armor progress to your other characters using this method, this does not apply to the cosmetic white glow effect of the armor. You only receive that for the second and third character if you also go through the full program, complete the 24 challenges, and collect every material.
