In Tree of Savior, players are questioning their own early access plan following fans’ protests.
Just recently, we reported on Tree of Savior and its three different early access packages. Depending on how much money one puts on the table, the longer exclusive access they get. Those who pay a hefty 50 euros should get 3 months of early access to the game before free-to-play players can join in.
According to the motto “Less is sometimes more”, the community has now taken to the barricades. According to fans, this period is far too long and would split the player base into several groups. Because those with a 3-month lead are playing with equipment that is in totally different leagues compared to newcomers, if they haven’t already obtained the best gear in the game.
3 Options for Early Access to Tree of Savior
IMCGAMES has taken this criticism to heart and simply asked fans in the forum what they would prefer. The official post states:
“We see communities as an important part of an MMORPG and consider every single player important, regardless of whether they spend money on the game or not. We also want to sincerely apologize for changing the plans for a founder server after initially announcing an open beta without enough explanation.”
In a survey, visitors to the forum can now choose from three options for how they would prefer the release and early access period:
- 1 week early access: Staggered into 1, 4 and 7 days of exclusive access
- 1 month early access: No staggering, all founder packages get one month
- 3 months early access: Staggered into 30, 60 and 90 days of exclusive access (as before)
These changes would also affect additional rewards, such as the premium currency TP. Currently, the “1 Month Early Access” package is clearly in the lead in the survey with 65% of the votes.
How exactly these potential adjustments will impact the timeline and whether the community’s decision can really be implemented is still unknown.
