Pokémon GO has announced all the content that is supposed to come to the big GO Fest Finale 2022. However, one monster is missing in the listing for some players.
This is the event: The GO Fest Finale serves as the closing event of this year’s GO Fests and takes place on August 27, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
On this day, numerous special spawns will appear during rotating habitats, and the Ultra Beasts from past local GO Fests will appear in raids.
Some monsters from previous fest events are involved. This includes Pokémon like Unown, Tropius, or Galarian Mr. Mime. However, a popular Pokémon from the past weeks is not on board: Snorlax with the cowboy hat.
No Cowboy Snorlax, but Scarf Pikachu
What kind of monster is this? The Cowboy Hat Snorlax was a special costumed monster that could be encountered at the events in Sapporo, Seattle, and Berlin. It debuted during the local GO Fests and could not be caught outside of the events. Those who weren’t there must hope for a trade if they want the Cowboy Hat Snorlax.
Apparently, some Trainers hoped that this special Snorlax would also appear at the global finale of the GO Fests. However, it is still missing from the list of monsters that you can encounter there – even if you buy a ticket.

- “If they don’t bring Snorlax with a cowboy hat, I would be pretty upset. It’s one of the few costumed Pokémon that has ever interested me, and they have hidden it behind local GO Fests,” complains a user (via reddit).
- “Damn, no Snorlax with a cowboy hat for the global finale is a bit disappointing” (via reddit).
- “No Cowboy Hat Snorlax? Really?” asks user ace2390 (via reddit).
- “Damn, I will grind all day long, haha… It’s kind of a shame that they excluded Snorlax with a hat and gave us another Pikachu. But hey! Looks good (to me!)” says user Maureen00 (via reddit).
- “Maybe they are still keeping it as a surprise spawn. Cowboy Snorlax was one of the most sought-after Shinies for all GO Fest attendees,” emphasizes a user (via reddit), but also mentions: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept it as an exclusive spawn only for GO Fests, like Safari Pikachu.”
Instead of the Cowboy Snorlax, a Pikachu with Shaymin scarf is currently the only one announced for the GO Fest Finale. While this is also an unusual monster, in the past, there have been significantly more costumed Pikachus than, for example, Snorlax.
At the same time, some users note that it is quite okay that Cowboy Snorlax will not be brought back for the finale. After all, this was also an important incentive for players who traveled to the local events.
