The hunt for monsters can captivate trainers of Pokémon GO. A trainer from Germany has now shown that one should be careful while doing so.
What is this warning about? Presumably, all trainers who regularly open Pokémon GO to hunt for rare and powerful monsters are familiar with the game’s message that appears at the beginning: “Always keep an eye on your surroundings! Do not enter dangerous terrain while playing Pokémon GO”.
While most trainers probably don’t pay much attention to the message and quickly dismiss it, a trainer from Bremerhaven has now shown that this warning should actually receive some attention. For the protection of life and limb.
Hunting Pokémon ends in water
According to a report on spiegel.de, the 42-year-old trainer was so engrossed in the game that he strayed off the path. He ended up in the Outer Weser.
While this could be a funny anecdote during the warm months of the year, it became a dangerous situation in this case. After all, it was not only dark at the time of the incident but also dangerously cold with temperatures just above 0° C.
A companion of the man was able to help him by navigating him to a staircase through which he could exit the cold water. Emergency services that were called subsequently took care of the man.
Police officers later stated in a communication that this was indeed a life-threatening situation and that it was thanks to the companion that the man was able to leave the cold water so quickly.
Be aware of your surroundings! If you play Pokémon GO yourself, take the initial warning of the game seriously. Pay attention to your surroundings and take care of yourself while hunting for monsters.
