A Pokémon GO trainer reports how her boyfriend betrayed
her during an event and asks the community what she should do. They provide fantastic responses.
What kind of event is this? The Weather Week
-event in Pokémon GO runs until Monday, March 18, 2024, at 8:00 PM. Part of this event consists of two collector challenges where you need to collect certain Pokémon.
In one of these collector challenges, you must collect the different forms of Formeo, which is a large part of the event. The snow form of Formeo is rarer than the other forms and thus harder to catch. This can make completing the corresponding collector challenge more difficult.

What does the trainer say? The trainer reports on Reddit that she and her boyfriend have different sleep schedules. When he is still sleeping and she sees that a Pokémon nearby is one he also needs, she takes his phone and catches it for him as well. But her boyfriend doesn’t seem to reciprocate this favor. She writes:
“Should I end the relationship with my boyfriend over a Pokémon?
[…]
It happened this morning… in the early morning hours, I was sleeping, the cats were sleeping, the world was quiet. In my region, it was unusually warm for the season, and the hope of finding the last Formeo snow form was fading day by day. My boyfriend and I have slightly shifted sleep rhythms, and I am known for logging into his PoGO while he sleeps if I see something important he needs on the app.”
She then explains what her boyfriend did and asks the community how she should act now. She continues writing:
“And now, shortly after I woke up this morning, this man casually says: ‘Oh, hey, I caught a Formeo snow form this morning.’ Excuse me? I haven’t felt so betrayed in years… in decades… he knew I needed it too, and what did he do? Nothing. Zip. Nada. Zero. He left me and the sanctity of our relationship in the lurch.
What can I do? How can I move on? Will my heart be paralyzed in this moment of heartbreak forever if I don’t break up with him and try to move on?”
