The tenth season of Sea of Thieves has started this month. This brought some changes that made many old players excited about the game again.
What can you expect in Season 10? A major announcement for the new season is the guilds. You now have the opportunity to create your own guild or join one.
Your guild can have up to 24 members. All members can set sail independently, experience adventures, and engage in battles. However, they still achieve guild goals and progress together.
It is also interesting that you can use the ships of your guild members even when they are offline. This way, as a guild, you can build and utilize a fairly balanced fleet of ships.
What other new features are there, you can find out in the trailer that we have embedded here for you:
Another major announcement could completely change the player experience of Sea of Thieves. And that is exactly what excites many players and might even bring them back to the game.
You now have the option to play the game in safe waters
. This means you set sail alone or only with a selected crew and encounter no other players during your voyage and on the islands.
Although the rewards and adventures are limited and predetermined in this case, it seems that this option is attracting many players back to the game.
How are the reactions? Why players are considering diving back into the game right now is quite clear in the comments (via YouTube). Because most are especially happy to finally be able to play the game relaxed through the new safe waters:

What? Safe waters? When did they add that? Finally, I can play the game again and actually focus on my tasks.

My friends and I stopped playing because the game was full of sweatlords who played it like it was an e-sports lobby

Well, I said I would play again if I had a private lobby… Ahoy!
From the reactions, it is clear that many players were previously dissatisfied with the gameplay of other players and cheaters, and therefore dropped out. Whether Sea of Thieves will succeed in regaining its player base with this option remains to be seen.
What do you think of the new option? Would you play the game in a private lobby? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments.
