The anime MMORPG Tower of Fantasy launches on August 11, 2022. Even before the release, players can access the character editor. There, they create replicas of their favorite characters from various anime and games. The community can vote.
With the ability to download Tower of Fantasy before the release, players could already access the character editor. The editor provides detailed customization options within the anime spectrum to make your character as unique as possible.
Created avatars can be saved and uploaded. In the gallery, other players can then vote for their favorites.

When you open the character editor in-game, click on the lobby and then select the “Popularity Vote” tab at the top, you will see the characters with the most upvotes.

- Hu Tao from Genshin Impact
- 2B from Nier Automata
- Kequing from Genshin Impact
- Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul
- Nazuna Nanakusa from Call of the Night
- Raphtalia from The Rising of the Shield Hero
- Bennett from Genshin Impact
- Hinata Hyuga from Naruto
- Zhongli from Genshin Impact or Sasuke from Naruto
- Nezuko from Demon Slayer
- Pain from Naruto
- Minato Aqua
Most of the 12 characters come from Genshin Impact and Naruto. All the created characters are from anime and anime games. It’s probably not that easy to create realistic humans from other genres with the character editor. At least not in a way that you would recognize them.
On Twitter, the developers encouraged players to post their created characters using the hashtags #createanimyself and #TowerofFantasy. They want to reward the 20 best avatars. Prizes include a mousepad, a water bottle, a $50 pizza voucher, and so-called “Mystery Gifts” that you will likely receive in-game.

What kind of game is this? Tower of Fantasy is a free-to-play anime MMORPG that bears a strong resemblance to the action RPG Genshin Impact. Both are graphically similar. It is developed by Hotta Studio and published by Level Infinite. It features an open world that you can explore with your character.
While in Genshin Impact you can visit and play in the worlds of other players, Tower of Fantasy is a real MMORPG, where all players roam in the same world. Another similar game is the MMORPG Noah’s Heart, which was released at the end of July.

- You follow a story on the planet Ada, which humans have colonized in the future.
- An open world where you can swim, climb, and fly.
- There are no fixed classes. Instead, you determine the playstyle with your equipment.
- An action-packed combat system requiring you to aim and dodge.
- A gacha system for weapons in the endgame.
- Dungeons, raids, and PvP content.
At the time of release, the developers stated on the game’s website that they had recorded over 4 million pre-registrations. Tower of Fantasy is thus expecting a large player base that hopefully lasts for a long time.
