Today it finally began for the anime MMORPG Tower of Fantasy, but many players are criticizing the servers. What is going on?
What is wrong with the servers? Tower of Fantasy opened its doors today. However, some players are reporting on social media that they cannot play – server problems and queues seem to be getting in their way.
This is not unusual; New World suffered from huge queues in 2021. In 2022, there were queues in Lost Ark that Amazon responded to. The topic of annoying queue times was so prevalent for a while that we even asked you what kind of queue type you are.
What kind of game is this, anyway? Tower of Fantasy is a free-to-play MMORPG in anime style, developed by Hotta Studio, which visually resembles the game Genshin Impact.
- Tower of Fantasy was released today, August 11, 2022
- The MMORPG was released on the game’s website as well as for mobile devices in the App Store and Google Play Store.
- A release on Steam and in the Epic Games Store is also expected later this year.
Despite its visual resemblance to Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy is a typical MMORPG and features an open world, PvP, guilds, trading, group content, as well as dungeons and numerous quests.

“I can’t play, but at least it looks good”
What did players say about the queues? Many players commented on YouTube under the launch trailer about the server issues and the queues, with many expressing humorously:
- RimxunYT: “I am here waiting for the server to get stronger.”
- °-Mia-°: “Rip to all players trying to get on the server, including me.”
- Eis_Kalt_Sprite: “The waiting time for me is not fair!”
- Rimxun YT: “I am here waiting for the server to get stronger because the combat system is so cool and it doesn’t lag unless the server kicks you out.”
- TheCheezcake Man: “The game looks good. I can’t play because the servers are full, but at least it looks good.”
On reddit, the comments are less humorous but also report strong issues with the servers:
- comfycal: “Yes, it’s frustrating to face all these error messages – ‘Server interrupted’, ‘Player already logged in’ and the error code. I pressed ‘Cancel’ on all 3 messages and spammed until I got in the queue (via reddit).”
- xxNuke: “Two in the morning in the middle of the week and the EU queues are huge. What on earth… (via reddit)”
- demondus: “I have limited playtime, so it doesn’t help me to wait 30 minutes to play. Too bad, I would have liked to try it too (via reddit).”
- raininggalaxy: “I’m not sure if the servers are down or if too many people are trying to log in (via reddit).”
