What are these changes? At the start of the Air Event on May 3, trainers noticed that there are secret Rocket changes in the game. Balloons arrive every hour, the Rocket Grunts are battling against other Pokémon, the difficulty of the battles is noticeably easier, and the Grunts found in balloons could reward trainers with shiny Shadow Pokémon.
These surprising changes have now been partially disabled, as trainers report.
Was this just a shiny glitch and not intentional?
This is now new: On the evening of May 3, more trainers reported that something has changed again with Team Rocket in Pokémon GO. User TrainerDaasC writes on reddit: “Crypto-Bluzuk and Crypto-Amonitas were removed from the Rocket lineup due to shiny Cryptos (accident) in the early time zones yesterday.”
He suspects that the two Pokémon were removed as Crypto encounters because there was a shiny glitch. According to his statement, the shiny Cryptos only existed for 5-6 hours in the early time zones.
Trainer UW_Unknown_Warrior also noticed changes and shares them on reddit. “I encountered 3 Rock-type Rocket Grunts. One from a balloon, two from stops. All started with a Snivy and not with Larvitar/Amonitas as reported. That’s a slap in the face.”
It is suspected: Actually, the Rocket Grunts are not supposed to distribute shiny Shadows. That’s why the joy was great when it actually worked.
Among other things, the new texts that Rocket Grunts told during their encounters were also removed. User BravoDelta23 writes on reddit: “The special texts are also gone. This makes me believe that this is a bug and someone released an old game master version. Again. This also happened during the Easter event. "

It is quite possible that these secret changes were unintentional and were meant for another event.
The big GO Fest 2022 starts in June for Pokémon GO. One of the bonuses is “thematically appropriate confetti” for the respective habitat rotations. And Team GO Rocket is also expected to change slightly, at least for ticket holders.
