Tomorrow Bless Unleashed will be released for PC: “Is this the only MMORPG with an action feeling?”

On August 6, the MMORPG Bless Unleashed will be released for PC. MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch reveals what kind of game it is and has spoken with the developers about its special features, endgame, and upcoming updates.

What kind of MMORPG is this? Bless Unleashed is a free-to-play MMORPG with an open world that focuses primarily on action-packed combat. You can actively target your enemies, execute various combos, and evade enemy attacks by rolling.

You can choose from 5 different classes to dive into the adventure. The game starts with classic quests that tell a main story up to level 25. Later, world bosses, dungeons, and areas with open PvP are introduced to challenge you. Another important aspect is the crafting system, through which you can acquire better equipment.

Bless Unleashed was already released in March 2020 for Xbox and in the fall for PlayStation. Now the release for the PC version is approaching.

In the following interview with Jason Park, the head of Round8 Studios, we focused on the special features of the game, the endgame, and the upcoming updates.

A glimpse into the game is provided by the developers’ release trailer:

Bless Unleashed aims to compete with plenty of action against other MMORPGs

MeinMMO: 2021 is a year full of new MMORPGs in the West. How can Bless Unleashed stand out from the competition?

Jason Park: We believe that Bless Unleashed is the only MMORPG where players can experience real action in a multiplayer game.

One of the unique features of the game is the vast world filled with powerful monsters, where players can experience tough battles and thrilling excitement.

Furthermore, the various items, options, and skill systems that support them are also solid, allowing players to hopefully enjoy a unique experience.

How does the combat system work? Bless Unleashed is a very fast-paced, action-packed game. Fighting was enjoyable during the beta tests because the attacks feel powerful and the animations are really well done.

However, you play Bless Unleashed better with a controller, as your combos consist of alternating use of the left and right mouse buttons. Additionally, you have access to 3 skills that you assign to other keys. It’s quite evident that the MMORPG was first developed for consoles.

MeinMMO: The launch is one of the most important times to generate a lot of attention for the game. What have you done to ensure that the PC release goes smoothly?

Jason Park: We are fully aware of the highly competitive MMORPG market. However, rather than focusing solely on success during the preparations for the release of Bless Unleashed on PC, we wanted to introduce the game to more players and offer them something new.

In this process, we have tried to provide a higher quality game with improved graphics and unique, exciting content. We have worked very hard to modify Bless Unleashed compared to the console versions to meet the needs of PC players.

What to expect in the endgame of Bless Unleashed

MeinMMO: One of the core elements of any MMORPG is the endgame. What content can players expect in Bless Unleashed? What is there to do once they reach the endgame?

Jason Park: Although the maximum level in Bless Unleashed is 45, players can only enjoy endgame content after completing the main quest in the Kannus Valley. This usually happens when the character has reached at least level 25.

Depending on the character’s development and gear, you can enter 5-player dungeons, time-limited dungeons, as well as invasions where you can farm powerful gear. Additionally, players can craft stronger and more diverse items by defeating field monsters and experiencing battlefield content where they can compete with other players.

Finally, there is a housing system where players can set up their own house, and through the house, they can earn new mounts, gear, and consumables.

MeinMMO: One of the endgame content features open PvP in certain areas. However, many players do not like open PvP. Why did you decide to include it in Bless Unleashed?

Jason Park: We like open PvP because of our fondness for classic MMOs, but we also understand that not every player wants to play that way. That’s why we allow every player to choose whether they want to participate in the PvP of Bless Unleashed or not.

It’s not really open PvP; it’s just another option for players who enjoy that playstyle.

How does open PvP work? From level 30 onwards, players can optionally activate a PvP mode in Bless Unleashed. This allows other players to attack them in the open world and outside of safe zones (cities and low-level areas). Attacking players who have disabled PvP incurs negative karma.

Due to negative karma, other players can kill you without penalty, and at a certain point, you may no longer enter cities as guards will also attack you. However, negative karma decreases over time through in-game playtime.

New classes and GvG are planned; a new roadmap will be released after the PC launch

MeinMMO: Bless Unleashed is finally launching on PC. Will the version be identical to the console version?

Jason Park: The development of new updates for PC and consoles will be as consistent as possible; however, there may always be slight differences. The updates for the PC platform might happen a bit faster.

The reason for this is that patch policies for consoles differ for each platform, so the update for the PC platform might happen a bit faster. But overall, the content will be introduced into the game at the same rhythm.

What updates have already been released for consoles? Several new story episodes, new dungeons, the “Ancient Weapons” as a new tier of equipment, and most recently a new arena challenge have been released for the console version. Currently, it’s still unclear whether the PC version will have these contents or not.

MeinMMO: And what do the future updates for Bless Unleashed look like?

Jason Park: We are preparing various new content for the future of Bless Unleashed on PC. To give you a few examples: We are working on a guild-versus-guild mode where guilds can compete against each other, a new class, and much more.

An updated roadmap will be released after the launch, so please stay tuned.

Bless Unleashed takes place in the same world as Bless but aims not to repeat past mistakes

What is the relationship between Bless and Bless Unleashed? The new Bless Unleashed is developed by Round8 Studios, a subsidiary of the company that already released Bless Online. Both MMORPGs take place in the same world, but in a different time.

In an earlier interview, the developers revealed that they want to avoid the mistakes of the failed Bless Online. Bless Unleashed was completely programmed from scratch and is aimed to be technically better optimized.

There has been significant work on the PC version recently. Originally, the release was supposed to take place in the first quarter of 2021. However, major adjustments were made to the controls and UI, as well as numerous quality-of-life updates.

We tested Bless Unleashed in the PC beta and summarized our experiences and impressions here:
