Tom Holland has accidentally spoiled a Marvel secret or two in the past. That’s why the actor was told in Avengers: Endgame that he was at a wedding – when they were actually filming a funeral.
In Avengers: Endgame, the big final battle takes place between the group of heroes and the arch-villain Thanos. In an emotional scene, Tony Stark aka Iron Man sacrifices himself to save the universe.
After Thanos is defeated, you see many heroes present at Tony Stark’s funeral. Iron Man’s mentee Peter Parker aka Spiderman is also there. However, the actor Tom Holland was not told what they were actually filming here.
“Where is Robert?”
As Tom Holland recounted on the show Jimmy Kimmel Live on May 10, 2019, he was told that he was at a wedding. The actor was even really looking forward to filming the scene.
Above all, he wondered why one of the most important people in the film was not present: Where is Robert [the actor of Iron Man]?
Only later did the actor realize the sad occasion for which all the characters were actually gathered.

Tom Holland was probably not told the background of the scene because the actor is known for quickly spilling film secrets.

As ComicBook.com reported, Marvel director Joe Russo confirmed that the actor did not receive scripts for the two Avengers films Infinity War and Endgame and only received the essential information in advance:
Yes, Tom Holland does not get the script. Tom Holland gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who his opponent is. We just use very vague terms to describe to him what is happening in the scene because he finds it very difficult to not tell anything

However, Marvel doesn’t just keep important information about his scenes from Tom Holland. In the same interview, Zendaya (MJ) stated that they receive the script a day before shooting to learn their lines, but everything spoiler-related is simply redacted. This sometimes makes it a bit difficult in preparation:
“Most of the script was redacted. It’s pretty hard to learn your lines when you can’t see them.”
