Todd Howard speaks about the announcement of The Elder Scrolls 6 and suggests that he regrets the way it was announced today.
The Elder Scrolls 6 is set to be the next big fantasy RPG from Bethesda, and the developer made that clear 5 years ago when it announced the latest installment of the popular game series together with Starfield at E3 2018.
Now the release of Starfield is just around the corner and we still haven’t seen any new information about The Elder Scrolls 6 – and a release is still far off.
Now Todd Howard, the head of Starfield, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls, expresses concerns about whether the way of the announcement was the best decision.
What does Howard say? In an interview with the British online magazine “GC”, Todd Howard was asked if he regretted announcing The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018.
Howard replied that he probably would have made the announcement a bit smaller:
I have often asked myself that. I don’t know. I probably would have announced it more casually.

What else does Howard say? When asked about The Elder Scrolls 6, Howard doesn’t say much. According to him, the game has a codename that he does not reveal.
Nevertheless, Howard provides a small insight into what Bethesda expects from the RPG:
“I will say that we want it to fill the role of the ultimate fantasy world simulator. And there are various ways to achieve that, considering the time that has passed.”
Who is Todd Howard anyway? Todd Howard is Game Director and Executive Producer for Bethesda Game Studios. He is responsible for the development of Starfield as well as the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series and leads Bethesda together with Studio Director Ashley Cheng.
As Starfield’s “Lead Designer” Emil Pagliarulo revealed on Twitter in July, Howard is also the only person at Bethesda allowed to speak about new information regarding Starfield:
