When does the Buddy Event run? The bonuses are available starting today, April 21, at 8:00 AM local time. The event lasts for one week and ends on April 27 at 10:00 PM local time.
Throughout the week, Illumise, a regional Pokémon, will also appear in our region and can be encountered as a Shiny. Additional bonuses round things off.
All information about the Buddy Event 2020
These are the bonuses: New Shinies, new Pokémon in the wild, and bonuses related to your buddy. We give an overview of all bonuses:
- Volbeat and Illumise will appear worldwide in the wild, in eggs, and from quests and can be caught as Shiny for the first time
- Fleknoil will appear in the wild for the first time
- In the wild and in 5-km eggs, Pokémon such as Alolan Meowth, Chansey (not in 5-km eggs), Eevee, Barboach, Poochyena, and Electrike will appear
- Special field research will reward you with Stardust, Alolan Meowth, Volbeat, Illumise, or Fleknoil
- Your buddy will bring you more gifts and souvenirs
- The buddy distance for candies and hearts is halved
- Your buddy will get excited faster
- Through berries, your buddy will now appear on the map for twice as long
- You will receive double XP for evolving Pokémon
