In Pokémon GO there is the Battle Challenge today, July 10th. You need to solve a limited-time special research quest to unlock Pokémon for the GO Fest.
When does it start? The Battle Challenge begins on July 10th at 8:00 AM local time and runs until July 15th at 10:00 PM local time. You have a whole week to complete the special research.
This special research is primarily focused on the theme of battles. You will likely need to participate in PvP or Arena battles. This is the 2nd week of the three-week event marathon leading up to the GO Fest.
Everything you need to know about the Battle Challenge
Are the tasks already known? No, only when the first players around the world can solve these tasks will there be more information.
So far, it is known that you will need to complete 3 stages and you will encounter Hitmonlee and Absol as well as receive a Super Rocket Radar.
After you have completed the 3 stages, there will also be another stage to challenge you, but it will not affect the spawns at the GO Fest.
Why should you complete the tasks? At least 1 million players from each of the three teams must complete the small special research. Each team can then unlock a different Pokémon for the big GO Fest in July:
- One million trainers from Team Instinct (yellow): Castform
- One million trainers from Team Mystic (blue): Alolan Grimer
- One million trainers from Team Valor (red): Alolan Marowak
Are there any further details about the event? So far, it is only known that you must complete this special research within the week.
No further bonuses, like last week, are known. However, it might be possible that these will be announced unexpectedly.
This is what should happen on the weekend: On Sunday, July 12th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM a special battle event is supposed to take place. However, there are currently no details about it. You should keep the 3 hours free if possible.
Otherwise, you can also still actively fight against Team Rocket. The villains now appear in a Rocket Balloon and you can battle them anywhere.
