Niantic announced the Psychic Spectacle as a new event in Pokémon GO on Thursday evening. In this event, players will have the opportunity to catch more Psychic Pokémon.
10 days duration: The new event starts today, October 5th, at 10:00 PM German time. The event will end on October 14th at 10:00 PM German time.
Increased Psychic Spawns: Niantic mentions in their announcement that there will be increased spawns of Psychic Pokémon, including Abra, Trasla, and Puppance.
These bonuses will be received – Shiny Traumato
- Psychic Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild
- New field research related to Psychic Pokémon
- Shiny Traumato and Hypno will appear in the game for the first time
Psychic Raid Bosses: The recently released new Raid Bosses in October are also primarily Psychic-type. These fit perfectly with the announced event. Especially Traumato, which was newly added as a Level 1 raid, makes sense in combination with the event and as a Shiny form. In this raid, players now have the chance to encounter a shiny Traumato.

What players are hoping for
Additional bonuses: On Twitter, many players are hoping for additional bonuses in the event. Twitter user “LadyHardcore” hopes for a double XP event.
Spawns of Trasla and Tanhel: On Reddit, the user “toxicbox” demands increased spawns of Trasla and Tanhel. The evolutions of these two Pokémon are among the best Psychic Pokémon in the game. They have been rarely found in the wild so far. Niantic mentioned in their announcement the increased occurrence of Trasla, but has not mentioned Tanhel yet.
The Community Day in October will be about Tanhel. More information can be found here.

Update: Data miner Chrales has already found new field research tasks. You will need to catch a certain number of Abra or Traumato, or a certain number of Psychic Pokémon. The exact number and what the rewards are is not known.
