Tonight, at 7 PM, developer Bungie will present the new era of “Destiny 2”. Here’s how you can join the stream on Twitch. We’ll give you an overview of how the evening will go on MeinMMO.
This is the announcement: Bungie has announced that they will reveal “the next chapter” of Destiny 2 tonight, on June 6th, at 7:00 PM our time.
It will be about how Bungie wants to shape Year 3 of Destiny 2, until then Destiny 3 is likely to be released in late 2020.
How can one watch this? You will be able to see what they show on three channels:
Of course, we at MeinMMO will report shortly on the announcement in all details.
What can we expect? At the moment, that’s still a secret. We imagine the following course for the evening, in which Bungie will announce the “new era of Destiny 2,” i.e., the “Year 3” content:
Around 6:45 PM, the lights will come on on the channels and epic music will play.
Around 6:55 PM, DeeJ will mumble, “1, 2, 3. Attention Guardians – this is a soundcheck.”

Then a cooldown timer ticks down, signaling that it actually starts around 7:10 PM.
Now comes a trailer that gives a first look at Shadowkeep, the new expansion. It comes out on September 3rd to preempt Borderlands 3, which will be released on September 13th.
The setting is deliberately dark, it once again involves fighting the Hive, and we see tight, dark corridors, strange alien structures and feel reminded of “Darkness Awaits”.
The mood in the chat is slightly euphoric, some Exotics are discovered – others complain that the “new enemies” are just reskins again, and someone talks about Hunter cloaks. There will also be new Supers that look spectacular and might convert some skeptics.

Now DeeJ greets us with a serious expression and a weird jacket, in the background at least two Bungie executives can be seen – one surely with a headpiece, the other with a magnificent beard.
DeeJ, without much ado, rolls the tape and a video documentation of about 12 minutes begins – here the development process for Shadowkeep is presented and it is constantly emphasized that they are getting closer to the idea of what Destiny 2 should actually be.

In the ViDoc, you see some gameplay scenes and many faces of Bungie developers, who only say things that sound really good and as if Bungie really thought something through in each design decision.
It is especially emphasized that now it is about binding the core players even closer and giving them the game that they have actually wanted to make since 2014.
It is then said that the era of Destiny 2 begins now, in which one has their own fate in hand – Luke Smith says that. Who else?

As a special bonus, players will learn in the ViDoc, that Destiny 2 is coming to the new platform “Stadia” and in the future PC, Xbox One, and Stadia will be unified with cross-save (Sony continues to act stubborn on the PS4).
Afterwards, there will be a brief talk round with guests in the studio, where DeeJ puts himself in the role of the player and asks some questions. However, regarding many gameplay details that the chat is frantically asking about, DeeJ says they won’t talk about those today – that’s a conversation for another day.
And then the event will end around 7:45 PM.
What do you think, how will the announcement of the new era of Destiny 2 go tonight?
Update 15:41: Reality catches up with us. Some things have already leaked that will most likely happen tonight.
