The streamer shroud is among the best shooter players in the world. However, he is also excited about WoW Classic. For a raid in Blackwing Lair, shroud even hired an expensive private jet, as he mentioned in the livestream.
What a move! The streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek streamed a lot of WoW Classic in the summer of 2019, which even cost him the first place on Twitch. His viewers were mainly used to shooter gameplay from the former CS:GO professional.
But even after the release phase, WoW Classic did not let him go.
At the release of Blackwing Lair, a raid instance from Phase 3 of WoW Classic, shroud rented a private jet to quickly get from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and participate in it. He wanted to be among the first attempts. shroud lives in Southern California, so he probably wanted to make it home in time with the flight.
Flight costs shroud $13,000
What does shroud say? In a livestream together with Justin “Just9n” Ortiz, they discussed the costs of air travel, bringing up the topic of private jets.
shroud then shared live about his first experiences with a jet:

You know, I only did this to participate in my WoW raid. No other flight would allow me to attend my WoW raid, except with a private jet.
I could have booked a regular flight, but I needed to get to my WoW raid; after all, it was the release day of BWL.
How expensive was the trip? After this brief excursus, his streaming colleague “Just9n” asked if he had rented the jet and how much the trip had cost.
According to shroud, the rental of the jet cost $6,600 per hour. The flight lasted two hours, so the BWL raid cost the streamer about $13,000.
At least drinks and food were included on board.
Alternatively, the trip with a regular flight would have cost him about $1,500. But with that, he would have arrived too late for the raid, as he revealed later in the livestream.
Why does shroud spend so much money? His counterpart “Just9n” called him a nerd in the livestream and deemed him crazy for spending so much money on a raid.
But shroud can apparently afford it.
Experts estimate that he and his colleague Ninja earn about $10 million per year, even if there are no official figures.
Thus, the move to Mixer has certainly been financially worthwhile for both of them. In return, however, they have noticeably lost viewers. During special events, like the Twitch Drops for Valorant, this becomes especially apparent.
