In Destiny 2, many Guardians want a buff for the Rocket Titan. Thundercrash is expected to be better, but Bungie shows no love.
This has happened: For the past few days, the demands for Bungie to finally show more love for the Rocket Titans have been increasing. In the last “This Week at Bungie” post, the developers presented changes to the focal points and supers with Shadowkeep – and the Rocket focus of the Titan is not receiving a buff, even though many Guardians say it is overdue.

Thundercrash should be stronger
What do the Guardians demand? Over the weekend, a Guardian on Reddit received over 6000 upvotes for pointing out that currently, the Bungie forums are exploding with complaint posts: Bungie is not giving Thundercrash any love. He is pleased that people are finally discussing it intensely.
They have been demanding a buff for a long time now, but many – like him – have been waiting to see what super changes Shadowkeep would bring. But since there is no mention of a Thundercrash buff in the patch notes, he hopes that the Rocket Titans will finally get Bungie’s attention this way.

What is the problem with the Rocket Super? Several issues are criticized regarding Thundercrash:
- The damage in PvE is too low – especially compared to other super attacks, which are significantly easier and “safer” to perform. With Thundercrash, you recklessly dive into the enemies and have to see if you can get out alive. It’s a risky super, which is why it should deal more damage than others, according to opinion.
- Currently, the damage against bosses is so low that the use of rockets hardly seems worthwhile, and better DPS can be achieved otherwise. But what else should you use Thundercrash for? Many other supers are better suited against adds, making it difficult to find arguments when wanting to play the Rocket Titan.
- Additionally, the damage resistance in PvP is too low. Some more mobile supers, which can strike more often, withstand more. As a rocket, you shouldn’t be so easily stopped, is the criticism.
Guardians, therefore, suggest not only adding a damage buff to Thundercrash. It could also have additional effects. For example, enemies at medium range could be pushed away from the impact by a shockwave or shaken, similar to a war satellite crash.
Nerf instead of Buff
Another Guardian in the comments summarizes: No, such buffs are not coming. But Bungie is giving you a nerf to the damage resistance of the super.
In PvP, the Guardians are supposed to have a better chance of withstanding super attacks. Therefore, the damage resistance during active Thundercrash super is being reduced from 54% to 49%. However, other supers receive similar nerfs, this is not exclusive to Thundercrash.
Nevertheless, some Titans believe: Many supers need a resistance nerf, yes, but Thundercrash does not.
By the way, the Sentinel Titan is receiving some buffs. As the only Titan subclass. Some Guardians joke that this is because Bungie wants to enforce the Titan bubble, as it has been announced: With Shadowkeep, the weapons of light are returning.
Do you also think that the Rocket Titan deserves a proper buff?
