In the Destiny 2 community, Titans are currently lamenting their situation. They feel useless in the endgame content right now. Hunters and Warlocks can do everything Titans can, only better.
This is why Titans are complaining: Currently, there are more posts from sad Titan players in the Destiny subreddit. They feel powerless and useless. Especially in PvE content, they hardly seem to have a place anymore.
In the endgame, like the raids, the other classes simply do a better job. Titans are only expected to serve as debuff bots by using the Hammer Strike from the Sunbreaker to weaken enemies.
But even that is challenged by Hunters: The Spectral Blades Hunter, introduced with the Forsaken expansion, can also weaken enemies with Shatter Strike. And that without any cooldown.
This is what players are saying: Some players agree with the current plight of Titans – including Warlocks and Hunters. Guardians wish for times when each class had its rightful place in the game.
It is remembered that in Destiny 1, during the King’s Fall raid against Oryx, one was stranded without Titans and their bubble. That Titans are only needed as Hammer Strike types would feel like the predecessor title when Warlocks could only play the Solar Focus.
Solar Warlocks had a super in Destiny 1 that allowed them to self-revive. This was often used and appreciated in raids.
Some Titans even report being kicked out of raids or excluded because their teammates preferred to take more Hunters and Warlocks along.
Are the exotic items to blame? The topic was also addressed by Datto in a video. He sees the weakness of the Titans’ situation partly attributed to the weak exotic items.
For instance, Hunters and Warlocks have some gear that enhances their abilities and supers in many ways. The Helm of Saint-14 gives the Solar Hunter’s Golden Gun a significant damage boost. The Warlock helmet Skull of Dire Ahamkara is a must-have for Nova Warlocks and was recently buffed.
There are also enough Exotics for other subclasses that enhance Hunters and Warlocks in many ways and make them important team members in endgame content.
According to Datto, the only Exotic for Titans that would come close to the great items for the other classes is the Doomfang Paunche.
