A new week and a new TWiD. Destiny 2 reveals new changes for the loot shooter. These mainly concern buffs for exotic class items of Titans as well as dusty exo armor and weapons. What you can expect in October, we will show you here.
What is supposed to change? In the latest TWiD from Bungie, the team discusses upcoming changes to weapons, as well as future adjustments that are supposed to come with Episode: Revenant. The focus is mainly on buffs for exos that are currently being overshadowed by power creep.
Additionally, exotic class items from Titans are falling behind those of other classes. Bungie has noticed this and wants to counteract it in the future.
Old exos will be revamped in Destiny 2: Episode 2
What does Bungie have planned? In their big TWiD post, many topics were addressed. The most important changes especially concern exos. Here’s what you should know for Episode 2:
- Armor
- Updates for underperforming perks of exo class items (especially for Titans).
- Buffs and reworks for unused exo armor. The following are meant:
- Foul Ranger (Hunter Helm)
- Mask of the Quiet (Titan Helm)
- Skull of the Terrible Ahamkara (Warlock Helm)
- and more.
- Many more small improvements to exotic armors that are meant to increase utility.
- Weapons
- Improvement of underperforming sub-families of weapons such as heavy rapid-fire grenade launchers.
- Significant increase in shotgun range in PvE.
- Improvement of numerous underutilized exotic weapons (Huckleberry, Chaperone, Bad Juju, Ex Diris, The Prospector, etc.) and perks (Iron Banner specific perks, Wuuusch!, Alloy Magazine, Weapon Mastery, etc.)
- A comprehensive overhaul of weapon mods with more than 10 new mods.
Are Titans weak? That depends on the perspective. Looking at the Titan alone, he can shine with various strong builds in PvE and PvP. However, if you compare him with the Hunter or Warlock, he tends to fall short.
The Hunters terrorize PvE and PvP with their Prismatic. Whether it’s their invisible melee attacks with astronomical damage numbers or the Golden Gun synergy with the Endless Hunt – the Hunter is simply too good.
The Warlock, on the other hand, becomes a true DPS monster with “Song of Flame” and Microcosm. Little exploding birdies followed by fire snaps leave every enemy in flames.
The Titan, however, has been reined in. His War Banner is no longer as effective as it was before its nerf, and the blessing build is slowly becoming boring. Additionally, his new Void Ultimate with the axes is a flop. They have poor tracking and are buggy.
