The next free DLC for Titanfall 2 is expected next week. The update will include the new War Games map and the Traffic map for the Live Fire mode.
Next week on Tuesday, June 27, the new content update for Titanfall 2 will be released. On the official website, the developers have now announced the The War Games DLC, which is free for players of Titanfall 2. The contents include maps, an execution, a third weapon slot for pilots, and the new featured mode “Free Agents”.

The new War Games map was a map from the Expedition DLC in the first Titanfall. Now it will be part of the next Titanfall 2 expansion, which is set to be released on Tuesday, June 27. The following contents will be available in The War Games DLC:
- War Games map – The War Games map will feature tall buildings for window-to-window fights and the city streets for Titan battles.
- Live Fire map: Traffic – A weathered testing ground where pilot positioning between two busy traffic roads is important. Due to dense cover, corners become dangerous, while snipers can hide in the back parts of the map.
- New execution: Shadow Boxing (Holo Pilot) – Achieve 20 pilot kills while the holopilot ability is activated. Both the normal holopilot ability and the boost ability count. Kills made before the DLC do not count towards the required 20 kills.
- Third weapon slot for pilots: You will be able to equip a primary, secondary, and an anti-Titan weapon due to the DLC.
- Titan Brawl will be added to the permanent list of game modes. There, Titan damage will be displayed instead of assists.
- New featured mode: Free Agents
- Details on balance changes will be in the patch notes shortly before the release of The War Games.
20 million players, huge July update, 4K support for XBOX
The developers also announced that there are now almost 20 million players who have played the original Titanfall or Titanfall 2. Since the release of Titanfall 2, there have been 5 content updates that are free for all players. The game now has over a million players per month.
The developers obviously do not want to rest on these strong numbers. A “huge” update is already planned for July that “brings a long-awaited game mode from the original Titanfall to the game”. What mode could it be?
Players opting for the new Xbox One X will enjoy TF2: Titanfall 2 will support the Xbox One X and thus utilize a 4K resolution and dynamic super scaling.
