Crossplay aims to bring players from all platforms together in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. In the Borderlands spin-off, there should be no limits – unlike previous entries in the series.
Is there crossplay in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands? Yes, there is extensive crossplay in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Randy Pitchford announced this on Twitter: “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will launch on March 25 with full crossplay for all platforms, including PlayStation,” Pitchford said (via Twitter).
This allows players on all platforms – PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and PC – to play together without restrictions.
However, Pitchford added in another tweet that we might not expect perfect operations at launch: “Please be patient with us if issues arise. This is a tough challenge, and none of the platforms were designed for it. We have invested a lot of effort to make this possible and to make it as user-friendly as possible, but this is uncharted territory and the wild is not a testing environment.”
Therefore, it remains to be seen how exactly the crossplay component will be shaped at release.
What kind of game is this? Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a fantasy spin-off in the Borderlands world. Here, you fight with countless weapons and a dash of magic against goblins, skeletons, dragons, and more. Moreover, you will occasionally move over a classic tabletop map and can look forward to crazy Borderlands humor. Wonderlands is set to release on March 25.
Why is crossplay important in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands?
Advantage over Borderlands 3: In its predecessor “Borderlands 3,” there was no crossplay at all initially, and this feature was later added via an update in 2021. However, the PlayStation consoles were left out – those playing on PS4 and PS5 could still not connect with PC and Xbox players.
This was certainly frustrating when looking for teammates and made playing with friends more difficult. In Wonderlands, this is likely to be a non-issue.
You can play together: Basically, you can experience Wonderlands entirely as a communal experience. You can play through the story in online co-op and also complete side activities together.
Whether you compete for the best loot or prefer a fair sharing system is up to you.
Even in the endgame full of “chaos chambers,” you can blast your way through the fantasy world of the Wonderlands together. You can find a comprehensive insight into the endgame of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands here.
